As does According to Jim. I saw on abcmedianet that the last episode to be produced before the strike brings suprising news. SPOILER ALERT, SPOLIER ALERT: Cheryl is pregnant, with TWINS! The remaining episodes will probaly be with the twins and the series finale will be the twins being born.
If the demo numbers work out as a tie, I say that the tie breaker is viewers. So, CBS is second and ABC settles for sloppy thirds. Of course, more than 1 decimal place of 'average' for the week would be useful to break that tie in a more meaningful way. Meanwhile, MNTV's 0.4 in the demo puts them just under half of CW for 6th among the English language broadcasting networks...though I wonder how PBS ranks in primetime if the data were available. Meanwhile, Ion just signed up M*A*S*H and they could probably beat both PBS and MNTV by just airing M*A*S*H reruns for 2 hours each night in primetime. M*A*S*H is one of the few shows that is worth watching over and over again.

Given the margin of error ... I don't think anyone would know who finished second (which apparently is the new first). And yes, MASH still rules after all these years.

Really? The escape plan was completely random, and the various twists both predictable and stupid. Not to mention the ratings are still decreasing year to year.
If you are so against PB why do keep watching it? The escaped was rushed beacause they didn't know the 13th episode was going to be the season finale. Given that i think the writers did a great job

I agree, though for a 7 day average, I still would give a nod to 2.84 > 2.75 instead of calling them equal. The magnitude of the win may be less than the uncertainty of the numbers, so it is a 'statistical tie', but bigger is still better.
As for ratings, every show but House and Lost seem to have lost viewers this year...
Lost is up from last year
Lost is down year to year
Nope, it is up from the same time last year. Lost Spring premier (which had a marketing campaign on a bigger scale then this years premiere due to having the advantage of being advertised on top rated ABC series since the middle of November whereas this year they did not start airing commercials till the end of December and were not able to show commercials on their big shows that people watch due to the strike) happened during the same time last year in the first week of Feb sweeps, comparing the numbers:
2007 Spring Premiere: 14.49 million viewers 6.4 A18-49 vs 2008 Spring Premire: 16.14m viewers and 6.7 A18-49 meaning it is up 11.22% in total viewers and 4.5% in the demo.
2007 Sp Block Episode 2: 12.77 million viewers & 5.6 A18-49 vs. 2008 Spring Ep 2: 15.29 M viewers and 6.5 A18-49 which is up 16.5% in viewers and 14% amongst 18-49
Great news for Christine and Sarah. I'm really hoping the Net Execs realize that these actually have a fan base, steady or growing.
I will be so mad, especially at FOX if they cancel Sarah. They already took Vanished, Tru Calling, Point Pleasant and Reunion away, isn't it time for them to realize they need to build up a better line of Dramas then Comedies?
Let us see, what successful Dramas do they already have? Ah... House, PB and Bones. Does that scream a network wanting to become serious competitors of the 3 [or should I just say 2, NBC is already a wreck] major network? Not to me.

Don't you just love it when people change the subject? 'Same time last year' is not the same as 'year to year'. All of your data/argument may still be valid and useful for discussion, but the initial word 'nope' is dishonest since the truth is more of a 'yep'.
