Yep, I'm embarrassed... Big Grin Though I have to admit I don't watch CBS much outside of "Survivor" (and that includes WBBM's low-rated newscasts, which I haven't watched since the Bill Kurtis-Walter Jacobson era.) I spend more time writing about Channel 2 than actually watching it...

I know Welcome to the Captain is bad and I'm sure CBS didn't do a great job promoting it, but you run a media blog and didn't even know about it??

Does anybody (travisyanan?, lostinratings, exmalibu) have an overnight metered market number for the two MyNetworkTV series last night:

- 8 pm Celebrity Expose: Michael Jackson
- 9 pm Paradise Hotel 2

If you could post, I would much appreciate it.

Thank you.

They are doing pretty well and wasn't Christine up last night?

Old Christine is up 6% in viewers (9.33 vs 9.90) compared to the fast nationals from last week and up 6.5% in the demo (3.1 vs. 3.3).

Really? The escape plan was completely random, and the various twists both predictable and stupid. Not to mention the ratings are still decreasing year to year.

Well,it cant be as elaborate as the season 1 escape, but I thought it was fairly well done with the whole set-up of T-Bag, Lechero and Bellick, than the escape into the water, the twist with Sucre and than the twist in the end with Mahone/Whistler..

As for ratings, every show but House and Lost seem to have lost viewers this year...

it was a truly memorable episode, full of twists and turns with a great cliffhanger. I think most people were fully satisfied. This show still delivers the good.

The problem is that you had to suspend disbelief for every scene of the episode. Why would the guards torture TBag in their office, just so that he can incriminate Sucre? How did Sucre have a record under his fake name? How can four men swim underwater for so long with no prior training, including one who can't swim at all? How did the father find them? Not to mention Whistler twisting his ankle (cliche much?) then jumping on trucks.

But the main problem was of course the escape itself. After alerting all the guards, how did Michal and co run past them all without being noticed? It just seems the show has lost what made it great in season 1, a plan.

Which makes me really wonder about this rumored spin-off, nothing can equal the original escape concept.

FOX Continues to Prevail After 12 Days of the 2008 February Sweep:

After 12 days of the February Sweep, FOX continues to prevail over the other networks in all key measures. The mammoth FOX lead over its rivals has been fueled by the enormous, record-breaking Super Bowl numbers, the powerhouse American Idol numbers on Tuesdays and Wednesdays, and reliable ratings strength on every other night.

In nightly wins, FOX has the most nightly wins having beaten the other networks on six out of 12 nights so far (one tie), followed by NBC with four nightly wins (one tie also).

After 12 days, ABC holds a 0.2 advantage over CBS for second place in the A18-49 demo, while CBS in turn is only 0.04 basis points ahead of NBC. CBS has a solid hold on second place in households and viewership.

After 12 days, FOX is continuing to show triple-digit year-over-year improvement in demo and viewers, with MyNetworkTV also showing significant double-digit year-over-year upward movement (eight nights only). Of the remaining networks, ABC and NBC are showing low double-digit year-over-year slippage while the rerun-addled The CW and CBS (last year's Super Bowl broadcaster) are both showing significant year-over-year fall-off.

Also of note: despite the WGA-strike addled line-ups of the six networks, after ten days the six networks are showing smaller-than-expected year-over-year erosion: the young adult demo and households are both down by 9% on a year-over-year basis and viewership is down by only 6% year-over-year.

* MyNetworkTV is nine nights of data only.

This years and last years numbers are based upon final Nielsen numbers, except for Saturday, Sunday and Monday this year which is based upon the FAST Nationals.

So far this sweep has been downright great for Fox, alright for ABC considering the state TV is in, pretty decent for CBS since they were mostly repeats, disappointing for NBC since their midseason shows debuted so strongly, outright poor for the CW, and positive for MNTV thanks to year to year increases.

My opinion regarding PB is that of course nothing will be as good as season one , but the last 3-4 episodes were at least decent. The problem as for many serialized shows is that the story has nowhere to go IMO, but it still is fun to watch

???

With the exception of the last first-run ep to air, every single DH episode this season got lower ratings than the equivalent episode from last season.

It is but for how much longer. I still love the show but I say give them one more season to wrap things up(they'll always be on the run unless something major with the company happens). Im not sure how the season will end but at 13 episodes it was only to be the mid season finale not the end of the 3rd season entirely. So get whatever cliffhanger this 3rd season(did you see the Sucre buried alive clip in the preview?) brings and take the man hunt for the brothers and turn it around with them chasing down the company(letting Mahone go might help them if they want some help from the government, which despite his time in Sona he may still have some sway with). Id say four seasons out of an idea that was probably meant to last only one season is a pretty good run and an enjoyable show for the most part.

It'll probably get renewed, but not for a whole season. It's not done dropping yet. And they spent a whole lot more money on it than PB--taking that into account, it's not really doing well enough. But well enough for them to try tweaking it.

They could start by firing the entire cast and starting over. Remind me again--which ones are the robots? Wink

I agree. I think that Summer Glau can stay but only because I know she is capable of better(even though I know the role calls for her to be robotic, she could still find some way to humanize it to an extent). I really don't find many redeeming moments for either actor portraying John or Sara. I know Sara is supposed to be cold and precise, but Linda Hamilton played the role the way it was written and this isn't even close on the show.

They would do well to utilize Dean Winter's character more on the show since I usually consider him to be a pretty good actor and like him in most roles I have seen him in.

Well, ABC was down in the 9.30-10.00PM time period in viewers as much as -61% (11.02 vs 4.30) and in the demo by -60% (3.5 vs 1.4) compared week-to-week according to the fast nationals.
