But PB actually IMPROVED from the previous week. With the improved lead-in, and with the massive Superbowl promotion still boosting it, shouldn't SCC have at least improved slightly on last week's #'s?
Why would the Superbowl promotion still be boosting it compared to last week? Was there another Superbowl I didn't know about.

Well there's a slight difference. PB does not have a lead-in and it's in its third season.
SCC is losing all the time and it might end the run with PB type of numbers. That's still respectabale by FOX standards but far from being a hit like FOX hoped. SCC recieved the "king/queen" treatment from FOX: incredible lead-in for the premiere and incredible amount of promotion during the second most watched program of all time.

I'd love to see a series finale, but if they don't make one for this season, I think that last season's finale will serve that role just fine.

Maybe you don't watch CBS
They've promoted it enough, the problem is it is horrible, and the numbers will go down all the time
I'm guessing FOX will be putting the "Terminator" show back into production this spring to at least finish the remaining 4 episodes from its order. They can certainly use them. Especially after "New Amsterdamned" rears its ugly, plagiarized head.
-- "Better Off Ted," Wednesdays at some time or another at some point or another in the near future. Because we can't all live in mansions and not ever work like the people on "Modern Family."

It's more that they have identical ratings compared to last week, which indicates that the promotion didn't convince anybody new to check them out, but that this is the base line they'll have.
I love OR, but its ratings don't suprise me and like most feel maybe it should be cancelled. Too bad, another good episode last night with girl's night and the road trip. Major props to the Commander, his s/l the last couple of shows has been so heart felt. I know I am pretty much alone when I say this, but I hope it does get renewed even with lack luster ratings even for a short run to tie up loose s/l. Heck even stick on Fri-Sat nights. I know by the last episode this season we won't find out who the dad is and fans of the show, should at least get that.

Well as long as it was somewhat satisfying for fans then I'd say its ok.

I actually liked OR in its first season, but aside from shotty scheduling, what really drove me away was even the idea that the leading character wasn't the boy's dad. It conflicted with the whole premise of the show, and it turned me off. I didn't watch a single episode this season.

It doesn't really matter if they're happy with the ratings or not (and they most certainly are not--they could have gotten the same #'s for a fraction of what they invested in SCC). What matters is that they gambled heavily on this show, and they're going to double up once or twice before they fold.
If they axed it now, they'd just get flak about how they're too quick to cancel stuff.
Even though most of the time, their mistake isn't to cancel early, but to greenlight in the first place.

I know Welcome to the Captain is bad and I'm sure CBS didn't do a great job promoting it, but you run a media blog and didn't even know about it??
FOX Continues to Prevail After 12 Days of the 2008 February Sweep:
After 12 days of the February Sweep, FOX continues to prevail over the other networks in all key measures. The mammoth FOX lead over its rivals has been fueled by the enormous, record-breaking Super Bowl numbers, the powerhouse American Idol numbers on Tuesdays and Wednesdays, and reliable ratings strength on every other night.
In nightly wins, FOX has the most nightly wins having beaten the other networks on six out of 12 nights so far (one tie), followed by NBC with four nightly wins (one tie also).
After 12 days, ABC holds a 0.2 advantage over CBS for second place in the A18-49 demo, while CBS in turn is only 0.04 basis points ahead of NBC. CBS has a solid hold on second place in households and viewership.
After 12 days, FOX is continuing to show triple-digit year-over-year improvement in demo and viewers, with MyNetworkTV also showing significant double-digit year-over-year upward movement (eight nights only). Of the remaining networks, ABC and NBC are showing low double-digit year-over-year slippage while the rerun-addled The CW and CBS (last year's Super Bowl broadcaster) are both showing significant year-over-year fall-off.
Also of note: despite the WGA-strike addled line-ups of the six networks, after ten days the six networks are showing smaller-than-expected year-over-year erosion: the young adult demo and households are both down by 9% on a year-over-year basis and viewership is down by only 6% year-over-year.
