Anyone else watch SNL last nite? Funny episode; I thought Taylor Swift did an excellent job. She interacted well with the rest of the cast and had some great skits. Her 'Monologue Song' was really funny and I loved the stage security, lol. Best episode in a while. And the first time in a long time I have stayed awake through the entire show! I'll be curious to see the ratings for this episode. Lots of Taylor Swift fans out there; and I'm becoming one.

Taylor Swift was good but the show was pretty bad overall. As usual.

This makes me feel so old and out of touch. I don't even know who Taylor Swift is...and the last time I watched SNL Dennis Miller was doing Weekend Update.

Not knowing who Taylor Swift is doesn't make you old, it makes you an alien. Clearly you're not living on this planet

So where should I know this person from? Disney show? Rap band? Adult films?

Seriously? I mean, she's the biggest selling artist of 2008

LAWLS!
Amazingly, she's not not a Disney girl, just a country singer who struck it big.
Although... that adult film thing might not be that far-fetched...

It will be older slanting but do enough TA to bring a viable demo that can then feed shows like Flashpoint or The Bridge or anything else that may develop between now and then. Neither GW or Medium will be on this nite. They will go the crime and legal route.
You're too optimistic about the Good Wife. Its demos are not good for its time slot and lead in. It will only continue to sink. Prediction- Good Wife gone in May, either Medium or GW stay on Fridays with crime filling out the block. They have too many holes on Sundays to really blow up the already weakened Fridays.

Ah, country music, that would explain it. I avoid country music at all costs. I also don't listen to the radio or have kids/grandkids, so the only way I hear about new artists is if they get into trouble or trouble finds them. For instance, I'd never heard of Rhianna or her boyfriend until he beat her up, and I'd never heard of that Kanye guy until he started going buggy during awards shows.
BTW, who is the singer with the stripper boots who does the opening song for Sunday Night Football?

I agree TGW has been underwhelming on tuesday and it not long for the nite, although i wouldn't characterize it as sinking. In any event, it is female and most of all generic which would make it perhaps a better setup for other crime shows that might be imported into friday nite. And it is newer, if not yet established. It is barely better than an average show, at best, but it would do for friday. They got away with a genre show like GW for so long because it did such good numbers that even somewhat less compatible shows could take advantage such as C2H. These days are gone. Medium would present the same problem as anchor of the nite. As I've been posting Medium it outside of the CBS framework (no dig at CBS there, nor Medium) and is better off as a 10pm show if it is retained.
You may be overly optimistic about CBS's inventory of shows next year if you have TGW in the trash already. Numb3rs appears gone, Cold Case probably gone, 3 Rivers cooked, GW and Medium certainly being seriously evaluated.

I think a move to Friday would sink the Good Wife belong a 2.0 demo for sure and probably below 9 million viewers. That just won't cut it anymore. You do have a point though that GW and Medium could be goners as well this year. Ultimately, it comes down to development and CBS clearly had a poor development season this year save for NCIS:LA which was a knock off, needing no real creative thought.
I think they're just as likely to take a slip up in ratings for a cheaper show on Fridays, thus my thoughts that Flashpoint will end up at 10pm in February this season. If it does decent business, the Bridge might go there too with GW staying on at 8pm. You do have a point though that Medium is more valuable to CBS and probably has the edge in getting a time slot.
Overall, CBS still has problems. They're just being masked by a much stronger 8pm on Tuesdays and some real strong demo juice flowing out of Monday's comedy block. The Mentalist, despite the year to year declines from Tuesdays at 9, is also making huge year to year gains for Thursdays at 10 (although not quite as much as I expected). I'm still saying there will be a 2 hour comedy block somewhere with the CM spinoff perhaps also playing a rebuilding role on some night. Its getting to be more and more of an ABC-like situation with big hits pulling up the average.
