I used to be a huge Ghost Whisperer fan. Each season I like it less and less. I watched the season premiere this year and haven't been back since.
The first two seasons Jennifer Love Hewitt seemed to be playing Melinda Gordon and she was incredible. Now it just seems like Jennifer Love Hewitt is playing herself (minus the obvious factors) and I can't stand to watch it!
Loved her in Party Of Five.
Awww my first TV show. Now I try and watch it on DVD and I'm like people actually watched this?!
They sure did! I think that's why I have trouble watching it on DVD because it is back to back drama and they never catch a break. But when it was on TV I watched it every week.
Law & Order (NBC) Viewers: 7.99 million (#1), A18-49: 1.8/ 6 (#1t)
Law & Order (NBC) Viewers: 8.41 million (#1), A18-49: 1.9/ 6 (#1)
I ended up DVR'ing Law and Order last night, and I thought the 9pm episode was a repeat! Either way, the numbers are still very good for a Friday night. IIRC, the season premiere started with a 1.3 demo, so if it sticks around a 1.8 demo, a 21st season could be in store!

Wow at Law and Order! Really good numbers. Starting from a 1.2 inthe demo and rising to almost a 2 in the demo and eight million viewers? And it beat Ghost Whisperer and Medium? Wow.
Still, GH and Medium must be taking a hit from L&O. Who would have thought Numbers would be the number one show for CBS?
I wonder if Law and Order affected Monk in anyway...

Why has CBS treated numbers so badly after it has done so well for them over the years? It was such a strong show just two years ago, that I felt that they could have moved it to another night and gotten even higher ratings.
Quick glance at last night: Betty clearly done but the night itself killed it more than anything. Law and Order needs that 9pm slot. I think it would do well over a 2.0 demo with Dateline at 8pm.
They should try Medium on Sundays instead of Three rivers. I really think that Medium is somehow bringing down numbers, the ratings for numbers were not this bad.
do you think ABC would consider moving ugly betty to Mondays at 8 -- what do they have planned there?

Medium is a good fit for Ghost Whisperer and Numb3rs. The problem is, it got caught in a year when both GW and Numb3rs are seeing big declines. So, I wouldn't say that its Medium's fault (since, afterall, Numb3rs was able to grow out of failed Ex-List last year). It's just the entire night that's declining for CBS.
Sunday night, Family Guy creator Seth MacFarlane and co-star Alex Borstein ("MadTV") take the stage for a half-hour special of live-action comedy, animation and music entitled Family Guy Presents: Seth & Alex's Almost Live Comedy Show on FOX.
Also Sunday night, on AMC, Don Draper (Jon Hamm) will have a pivotal meeting with mogul Connie Hilton, his wife Betty (January Jones) gets some advice and recently demoted Pete Campbell (Vincent Kartheiser) talks to his clients in the 3rd season finale of the Emmy-award winning drama Mad Men.

I dont get why everyone is so surprised at the numbers for CBS? The reason they were so strong this last year was lack of competition!! Last Year Ghost Whisperer was up against Wife Swap on ABC, 5TH Grader on FOX (Which should Be brought Back to Fridays!), on Nbc was Deal Or No deal Than Howie do it, and on THE CW The game and EHC. so you can see why it did so well.
I have to agree with this. CBS has done very well in the last few years, because they are the only network that has programmed the night. The other nets have abandoned Fridays, showing cheap reality and game shows. By doing this, they turned the night into another Saturday. The fact that every net has programmed Friday this fall, even with low rated shows like Dollhouse or throwing old favorites like Ugly Betty and Smallville into the abyss, shows that they are trying to take back the night. I'm glad to see the trend.
The Wanda Sykes Show - Kind of boring V - Thought I would hate it, watched it on DVR, LOVED IT!

I wonder if CBS might keep Numb3rs as a back-up for the 2010-2011 season - order 13 shows. They really should try it on another night (Sunday at 10pm?)
isn't cutting the episode order and perhaps resting it durring February sweeps basicly the same thing - to try out FLASHPOINT or another show in the slot?
