My problem with the show... on paper I thought it would be WAY less goofy... Titus and Molina should have switched characters to make them remotely believable.... and they need to start acting like guys... I dont care how much money you have or dont have... guys are guys... there too much like the guys on Grey's minus the angst and those guys are so unrealistic...

Nobody cares about what's realistic--they care about what's dramatically believable, in the context of a given show, but c'mon--reality is what they're ESCAPING.

And I still haven't seen Big Shots, but could I just ask--if the characters are so much like the men from Grey's Anatomy, how come more women aren't watching?

They may ASPIRE to be like the men from Greys, but that's a whole different deal.

No, but I bet those with DVRs don't feel the need to stay up now just to watch a favorite show.

I am sure that DVR use has increased the number of people that go too bed at 10pm rather than 'struggling' to 11pm. What I don't believe is that these DVR users have this habit isolated to Thursday.

Instead, I think a big part of the dropoff for the Thursday 10pm shows is simply that DVR users are watching the 8pm or 9pm show that they could not watch 'live'.

Thursday is just 'too busy' at 8pm and 9pm. Increased DVR use is actually hurting the 10PM shows because people are watching the 'other' earlier shows at that time instead.

Here it is:

MONDAY
8:00-9:00 PM 24
9:00-10:00 PM The Sarah Connor Chronicles

24 would be a good lead-in for SCC and it probably wouldn't do (much) worse one hour earlier.

TUESDAY
8:00-9:00 PM Amercan Idol performance show
9:00-10:00 PM House

No change here. But after one last time of Idol-nourishing plus post-Super Bowl House should really move...Sunday? Thursday?

WEDNESDAY
8:00-9:00 PM American Idol results show
9:00-9:30 PM Back To You
9:30-10:00 PM Til' Death

It doesn't matter where Idol is airing since it's huge everywhere. And Back To You after Idol could give FOX a new hit comedy because compared to Til' Death this show is good...very good.

THURSDAY
8:00-9:00 PM Bones
9:00-10:00 PM Canterbury's Law

Bones would be great counter programming at 8 pm and a better lead-in for Canterbury's Law than 5th Grader.

FRIDAY
8:00-9:00 PM Prison Break
9:00-10:00 PM New Amsterdam

Prison Break is dead - creatively and ratingswise speaking - why don't dumb it on Fridays instead of Bones? And regarding New Amsterdam...there is simply no better timeslot there.

SUNDAY
7:30-8:00 PM comedy repeats
8:00-8:30 PM The Simpsons
8:30-9:00 PM King of the Hill
9:00-9:30 PM Family Guy
9:30-10:00 PM American Dad

In my opinion that would be a well thought and great schedule for FOX coming January...thoughts?

Regardless of if Prison Break is on its last legs it will at least finish out this full season.

I thought House was moving to Wed, Idol Tues/Wed, and Sarah on Sunday. Thursday is 5th Grader and the horribly reviewed Canterbury's Law. Unless they change the schedule, FOX isn't going to be competitive again.

With FOX, every future schedule is writen in Pencil, lightly.

Bones has been "Scheduled" for Fridays 2 seasons in a row, but will it happen in Jaunuary?????

Well I still like a little realism in my TV. back to you feels like a sitcom and the office feels like people I know.. Lost is about as big concept and out of the box as you can get but the characters still feel real.

As for Big Shots and Grey's.... just a guess.. but aren't women watching the Men of Grey's because of the relationships they have with the women they love on the show?

Big Shots has ZERO romance thus far minus one scene last night...

Any news on what FOX is doing this year? It's not like them to be so quiet.

Will Idol results permanently be an hour this spring?

On the issue of DVR's or before that even VHS. It really depends. I do know people who record and typically watch little of what they record.

Then I know people that never watch live (my brother) then watch the recorded programs either during the day of the weekend. Then I have my parents that cram two weeks of TV in one week (Dad works one week away from home and almost no time for TV, and my Mom records, burns to disc and then saves tehm for the week he is home so that they can watch as a family.

I can tell my last job required me getting up at 4am. That means I was in bed at 8pm. And yeah, I recorded the hell out of my programs and watched the next afternoon.

Even know with a 8-5 job. I do typically only watch shows from 8-10. Then spend that last hour getting my stuff ready for work and spending about 30 minutes on the net or playing games. What few 10 pm shows I watch (and it is few) I always watch the next day.

Most of my immediate family also have odd viewing habits, for when we watch shows. But I also think we used VCR far more then other households. I would have two set up and record at least 2 hours a night to watch during the next day.

So really it jsut depends how many people have these odd viewing patterns.

There is only two shows that I will usually always watch live.

I have no idea how these shows will do tonight.

I've wondered if the targeted audience will even be home for the shows. DVRing could play a big role, I guess.

I say this every Wed and Thu, and will continue until either ABC axes one or both shows, or actually does it.

Big Shots....to Wed after Private Practice.
DSM....to Thu after Grey's Anatomy

THIS will help both shows!!!
Grey has really went from a medical drama to a soap, and DSM is completely a soap.

Big Shots would keep its current audience, which would look good paired with PP, which is not so dominant as Grey.

Move them!

I don't see how 24/Sarah is compatible. One is a female skewing show and one is surely more male skewing. It's more like counter-programming.

I also don't think PB will ever end up on Fridays, no matter how bad it gets in the ratings. It's still well loved by FOX and will get an OC send off in a well watched night instead of just being dumped.

Why would FOX cancel 5th Grader?????
Last week it was its SECOND HIGHEST rated show for the week.

A head of Family Guy, Bones and The Simpsons.

The Demo #'s may not be big, but its alternative programming, doesn't need to be.

That was the whole point. People routinely bash ER for being 'so expensive' compared to its ratings yet no one knows what ER's costs are these days. It is a baseless claim.
