You actually think people are stupid. Like they wait a signal on the 1st week of the "official" season in order to turn on their TV sets. The only mistake FOX made was to premiere PB on Labour Day

PS: i guess Bones got 10 million viewers by accident, right?

Well said...Robert...the whole "waiting for the start of the season" thing is bogus.

"Privileged" was awesome!!! but the bad side is that it was preempted to and aired at 11:35 a.m. CT....

Another reason it is dumb for the networks to go early. The Cubs and White Sox will be off WGN in a couple of weeks, and no preemptions.

I meant 11:35 p.m. CT for "Privileged"...
Were you at the game Sunday Night?
Yes I was. Section 610 - Row 12. My first time in the Lucas Oil Stadium! The place blew me away. Unfortunately, the Colts just blew!

I was very pleased with my seats - very comparable to my seats last year - and those HD Jumbo-Trons are amazing!

Since these numbers include all the people watching the game in Chicago, they are actually better than they would have been without the pre-emption. Once the finals come out, the week-to-week drop will be even bigger.

90210's ratings seem weird to me. Its not the drop, but its because the ratings last week helod steady from half-hour to half-hour.

So, you want to tell me that 5 million watched 2 hours of show without leaving, and then 2 million people were just like, who cares what happens now?

I get that kind of erosion over months (or years), but not a week. A drop like this should have been evidenced by decreases in viewers over each half-hour last week, and it wasn't.

However, I think that the producers have already made a huge mistake by not having had the old cast have significant airtime already. However, something tells me that come November, Kelly and Brenda might be fighting over Dylan again...

As for the episode, it wasn't that bad. I actually thought it was a good 2nd episode..

As for Privileged, it seems to be pretty compatible with 90210, and was pretty good. I really like the female lead (reminds me a little of Rory Gilmore), and think that the show has potential..

As for Fringe, I haven't watched it yet, but cant say I am surprised by the numbers. It just seems that until the ratings system starts to acurately reflect people's viewing habits, no show will have its true ratings reflected...

maybe it is because people were watching BB10 and Wipeout and knew 90210 would be reairing last nite's episode tonite. I for one dvr'd BB10 and Wipeout last nite because I knew 90210 could get dvr'd tonite.

So true. I think that shows like this that appeal to the younger demographic will always look mediocre in the current ratings system because younger viewers don't sit down to watch at the regular times anymore. They dvr or watch online. And, they watch more cable shows. The older viewers' habits are still set to watch at a certain time. But the networks aren't dumb; they know this and will get advertising dollars online. As much as I read here about how NBC is in trouble (and it may be), they are certainly more generous with their online viewing than CBS. It may be that NBC is just ahead of the curve, and in the future it will be CBS trying to play catch-up.

Everything Was New For the First Time This Season, but Disappointing Night except Got Talent

This season started out strong and its becoming disapointing to look at the ratings this week. Only NFL, Bones, and 5th Grader have stuff to rave about right now. America's Got Talent is the one show on TV that could easily get about 20 years under its belt and may outlast Idol as the stronger show 20 years from now. The only thing I watched live last night was Got Talent and the show was amazing. I think the boost towards 13 million viewers had alot to do with the competition getting better. Expect big numbers the rest of the way including 15 million at some point.

FOX's Fringe had disappointing ratings, but the numbers are still strong. I think Fringe should've premiered behind House. Fringe is the one show that I expect to grow throughout its reign and become a huge hit. Think folks, both X-Files, 24, and House all started out kinda of slow, but became the biggest FOX's dramas to date. Fringe will benefit from some extra eyes after House and American Idol so I'm not worried about this show. Word of mouth will help. Hole in the Wall didn't help FOX's psyche.

90210 was a huge letdown in the ratings department. Losing almost 2 million viewers. I watched the show on DVR and it was way better than last week's b/c they got to their first plot of the series. I think this is a show suffering from its network. CW has such a bad reputation that its making me think that it needs to shut down and build a whole new network.

ABC's Wipeout had solid numbers, but its a nostalgia hit at best like American Gladiators and its ratings reign might be over. To me a show like Wipeout, Hole in the Wall, and AG all would all benefit to an afternoon move. These networks need to open up an afternoon lineup that will target kids and move these shows there. It would work if they could get those kids watching cable in the afternoons and move them back to the networks.

BB10, this show is sucking so bad right now and it doesn't deserve these high numbers. Dan and Memphis have ruined a great season. Its still good to see BB getting good ratings b/c that makes just want to see BB11.

HUGE UPDATE:
Monday Night Football got 13 million viewers for MIN-GB on ESPN. That might help people realize that had alot to do with DOND, T:SCC, PB, and Raw all male focused shows dropping in their numbers.

I agree with Milcus and BlueLick the ratings for 90210 seem so weird and I can't even explain the drop, which usually makes sense when a show drops like that. Good 2nd episode where I'm starting to see the characters colors come out.

Not going to worry about Fringe right now as I think its safe with the lead-ins.

I think DVR moving over 30% is going to hurt alot of shows this season and the viewing habits won't come into play until September 22.

90210, wow what happen, how can they lose 2 millions viewers in a week? It doesn't look good for that show or the CW.

Fringe had ok numbers but not what FOX was expecting. I watched the show and wasn't impressed. Dull cast, story was ok but nothing that would make me add this show to my must see tv list.

I'm so glad Bill Engvall was renewed. This show got better in its second season. I'm a little concerned they're only bringing 10 episodes, this show needs to hurry up and enter syndication. They should have just as many episodes as House of Payne has.

You're in the minority when it comes to BB. Ratings have proven that this summer. As Dan/Memphis went further, the numbers went higher.

ABC's Wipeout did good considering all the dumb moves ABC has pulled in the past month concerning it. I do think an afternoon move for something like American Gladiators or Hole in the Wall or even Wipeout would work but given how well ABC does in the summer, I'd say that's where Wipeout will stay (and that's just fine with me).

Cdub proved that was bogus last week. GG, OTH, 90210, and Top Model likely debuted to higher numbers than they would've gotten during the regular premiere week.

House of Payne was pushed with double episodes specifically so they could reach syndication. House of Payne has over 100 episodes already whereas Bill Engvall show has 20.
