Last year it averaged 11.67 million viewers and a 4.4/11 among adults 18-49 on Tues, Nov. 22, 2005. So, I would expect about the same. quote: Originally posted by vlis: MArc, what kind of #'s will the AMA's pull in next tuesday on abc?

Hahaha... oh, that's so sad. I hate it when boards have inflammation of the troll. I do not envy moderators.

(I admit I'm biased by proposing this revival because it's my favorite game show ever) I know it flopped on CBS's "Gameshow Marathon" this summer but that was with celebrities and celebrity versions of game shows usually suck, like the one on "Gameshow Marathon".
I watched this at 4am when I couldn't sleep. I would have thought that this show would have put me to sleep but it was so bad I think I was subconciously horrified that they would put something this bad on the air. It was almost a SNL skit.... I love Game Shows and so far, the only one I can say is worth air time is 1 vs. 100. Show Me The Money won't make it to Christmas. I agree about Millionaire and Press Your Luck... (and of course I have to mention GREED once more...)
If you'd like to see a good revival of "Press Your Luck" and post your thoughts, then go here: http://pifeedback.com/eve/forums/a/tpc/f/68210551/m/23610202As for "Greed", I liked the show too but the Eliminator portion was a bit weird because no player controlled the stopping of the Eliminator. The captain should have a button to stop the "Eliminator" to select a person.

And Btrayed, I'm right there with YOU--because you are 100% right. As is often the case with cult shows, the online fanbase is VM's biggest problem. I mean, aside from the show not being very good, of course.

Haven't most music awards shows been down recently? Do you think the AMAs could fall?

The AMA's have taken such a dive from its heyday. It used to be a more entertaining awards show than the Grammys but no more. Hardly any current music acts even attend the show - not even the acts who wind up winning an award. Sad.

Is this the Judging Amy curse?
Let's see, CBS cancelled Judging Amy prematurely right before the show was about to enter its 7th and final season. They justified the cancellation with Judging Amy's relatively old audience and announced that they would like to attract younger viewers on Tuesdays @ 10/9c.
All shows they launched since then in the timeslot struggled immensly...Close to Home, Smith and recently 3 LBS.

I won't comment on the quality of the show because I have never seen it. My sister lent me her dvds for seasons 1 and 2 but I just don't want to watch them because of VM fans' treatment of non-fans. Why is it wrong for me to not want to watch it? This was the same thing for Arrested Development... I am so glad I am no longer called an idiot for not watching that show. (this is not necessarily on this forum but its happened on others I visit)

Don't forget The Amazing Race either. It also didn't do that well in the Tuesday 10/9c timeslot late last season and thus CBS moved it to Wednesdays at 8/7c.

I can't disagree with the fact that VMars has been performing horrible since it's Halloween episode. It was gaining steam all season until that episode, now it seems to be declining. I'm not sure why that is, could be due to the fact that House is back. I mean, that is when it all started. But I agree, as crazy as I am about my favorite show, it's performance is that of a loser. Why even sugar coat it. Let's all just hope for a full season and see what happens after that. And for all you people offended by pisher's comments, just ignore him. It's not a crime to dislike a show. Heck, I have thought Lost was crap since day one, but a lot of people love it and I respect that. I guess that's where pisher differs, he doesn't have respect for anyone. But people have their opinions. If you don't like them then don't read them. I mean, he could be more sympathetic to us fans who love and root for our show, but he's not. He likes to be cruel and get under your skin, and if you let him then he wins.

Has Law and Order: SVU's demographics changed? I thought last night's episode had too much of a personal life dimension. Are they trying to draw more women?

I see the ratings every week, and I like to think I am a pretty good guesser at US TV tastes, but I am shocked how Dancing With the Stars gets such huge ratings. Who could have ever predicted that a show with a number of "mediocre" stars where the focus of the show is dancing could get such huge ratings? Is the audience mostly the old American Bandstand viewership now grown up? I watch Gilmore Girls and tape NCIS, so I admit that I've never seen this show. What is the big attraction?

I've long tried to figure out fans like that, B'Trayed. It seems that they refuse to understand that most of us aren't looking for an alternate religion when we watch TV. They just can't stop themselves from handing out tracts.

It conflicts with too many shows for my schedule, but I did enjoy it in the beginning simply because I will watch any kind of ballroom/salsa/etc dancing. As for the stars, it's a big American ideals things. The underdog, the fallen star, rising up into the public eye again. It's like seeing a familiar friend with some of them, and it's kind of fun. Again, I've only watched a couple eps but I think that's the draw.

You know what -- it's good clean fun that the family can watch together and it has a competitive element. It's the new form of variety. Personally, I am addicted. quote: Originally posted by johnfisch: I see the ratings every week, and I like to think I am a pretty good guesser at US TV tastes, but I am shocked how Dancing With the Stars gets such huge ratings.
