Eagerly awaiting the next episodes of MEDIUM, L&O, and premiere of LIPSTICK. But this viewer (not representative) won't be bitter, but I'm wondering if loading up on the red hot "altered persons" genre is the answer for NBC. Similarity, particularly in the offbeat or creative realm, can often more likely invite negative comparisons. The one "altered person" show I am actually somewhat intrigued by is the ABC show, I hope I'm getting the name right, SAM I AM. Isn't this the one about an amnesiac who makes some startling personal discoveries? Now that's imagination. Oh, and on NBC, there'll be the return of HEROES, FNL, NFL, and SVU.

Sam I Am does sound good and ABC is already advertising for it, meaning it has network backing. quote: Originally posted by Bruce: quote: Originally posted by tvfan300: quote: Originally posted by Justin: Well, this is turning into: "NETWORK BATTLE, FIGHT FOR YOUR OWN!" Golly!

Thanks raes and Justin for catching my typo...I've corrected the original post...the CBS year-over-year decline is in fact 19%. And to your point, raes, I think the most critical impact of Sweep numbers accrue to the affiliates in non-major markets whose local ratecards depend upon ratings measurement during sweeps...especially those 10 and 11 pm local newscasts. The only bright light for CBS is that they end primetime with their strongest series (except for Thursday) of the night. quote: Originally posted by raes: The -8% is a typo. It's actually -18, almost -19%. What, you think a low rated Sunday movie actually decreased CBS year to year loss? Talking about the difference of .6 between 3.0 and 3.6 in the first three networks' demo, will any media buyers care much? Granted it's a 16% difference, but how many million viewers does it represent? Would other more narrow demo numbers be more important in such a close field, and if so, what are those demos? Or do they only look at individual shows, not the network as a whole? quote: Originally posted by Justin CBS was at -16, now is at -8! quote: Originally posted by dumont: FOX Maintains 0.1 A18-49 Lead After 25 Days of the May Sweep:
2007 A18-49 vs first 25 nights 2006 A18-49 (results weighted for extra hour on Sundays)
1. FOX 3.6 vs 4.2 (-14%) 2. ABC 3.5 vs 3.3 (+6%) 3. CBS 3.0 vs 3.7 (-8%) 4. NBC 2.3 vs 3.2 (-28%) 5. CW 1.3 vs. 1.2 (+8% to The WB) 6. MNT 0.4 vs 1.2 (-67% from UPN, first 22 nights only) TOTAL 6 NETS: 14.0 vs. 16.6 (-16%)
FOX continues to hold on to first place by a slim 0.1 lead over ABC in A18-49 after 25 days of the May Sweep.
ABC and The CW are the only two broadcast networks to show year-over-year improvement in both A18-49 after 25 days of the May Sweep.

This season, MyNetworkTV has aired more theatricals than all the other five English-language broadcasts networks combined. And those theatricals are producing the best ratings for the network in terms of: - households (averaging 0.8HH, higher than the specials, IFL or telenovellas) and in share of households (MyThursdayMovie is the only MNT programming averaging a 2% share); - viewers (movies are averaging 1.1 million viewers, whereas specials, IFL or telenovellas all averaging less than a million viewers); and - the highest A18-49 (.42 for movies vs. .40 for specials, .39 for IFL or and .38 for telenovellas) quote: Originally posted by mushu_jj: I'm also surprised Dumont's not here elequently pushing up MNTV and their theatricals. quote: Originally posted by tvfan300: Shhhhhhh! I had high expectations for the finale and unfortunately it failed to deliver to my expectations. For one I thought it was very weak the way they resolved the bomb. People on message boards have been speculating Nathan flying peter off to space since ep 11. It was one of the most popular theory about the topic. It is kinda anticlimactic that they would actually do it that way, it's like if we learn that the island on Lost is a purgatory. Secondly I did not understand some of the character motivations, for one what was the reason Clair did not shoot peter? Peter would have been knocked out and then regenerated. If the man can survive a nuclear explosion he can certainly survive a bullet. That seems a lot more logical than Nathan taking him off to sky & sacrificing himself in the process. I'm willing to let small inconsistencies slide but this one really stood out as a plot hole. I liked the revelation about a guy who is more evil than Syler I can't wait to find out what that is about. I also liked Peter's hallucination talking to Simone's dad. Hopefully Syler is dead for good and he does not become the Habib Marwan of Heroes.

OK - well since I enjoyed October Road, I guess it's another reason to look forward to Cane. I'm just going by the previews, but I think these actors will warrant initial tune in. However, if many view the show as slow like Travis does, then it will perish. And Mushu, the show coming to CBS Fridays is Moonlight, not Moonlighting. Although I think if they had Bruce Willis and Cybill Shepard come back as Vampires, CBS would have a better chance at a hit series here. quote: Originally posted by TravisYanan: And I didn't like the October Road pilot so I didn't stick with the series. If that description can be applied to OR, too... then, well, no wonder I won't be watching either!

Thanks for correcting me x. I'll have the titles down a bit better by fall. P.S. I too look forward to Cane, but that timeslot is like sending it to air against Idol. quote: Originally posted by xwiseguyx: OK - well since I enjoyed October Road, I guess it's another reason to look forward to Cane. quote: It was actually TBS who now has the rights to all of the LDS games and the National League Championship Series. FOX now only has the ALCS and the World Series. So believe it or not, Wiki was correct this time.
Believe it or Not, You're Wrong... Again. FOX will only air the World Series and one of the LCS'. FOX and TBS will alternating LCS' each year. 2007FOX - ALCS TBS - NLCS 2008FOX - NLCS TBS - ALCS Some LDS games will air on TNT

So I take it ESPN's short stint as the home of the LDS games is over? quote: Originally posted by TV-aholic: quote: It was actually TBS who now has the rights to all of the LDS games and the National League Championship Series. You could argue that Peter would've stayed dead, because the bullet would still be inside of him. When Claire first "died," someone needed to take that thing out of her head in order for her to come back to life. It happened to Peter, too. Someone needed to take out that glass shard out of his head in order for him to come back to life. Plus, she's a teenager about to shoot somebody who she trusted and was beginning to love (I think). I don't this it's that easy.

Well, since we were talking about next fall, I didn't feel the need to put the '08 schedule on there. I was presenting the '07 schedule. But thanks for repeating what I said.
