SNL is a piece of crap show that's on the decline and not funny anymore... this is according to at least some segment of the population and media since 1980. It's was written about in newspapers in 1981, talked about on car phones in 1990, emailed to others in 1995, articles in webzines in 2000, blogged in 2004, text-ed in 2007... blah blah blah. What an old and pointless argument.

And these sentiments will continue... with thought processing in 2011, ESP'd in 2020, and mind melded in 2050.

Not if the Zach Braff season finale was any indication. Zach's a funny guy and a decent actor... but I think I can count the number of times I laughed that episode. The Molly Shannon thing was a fluke, because it was retreading her old characters (that seem genius compared to much of the current crop... Deep House Dish anyone?)

I'll admit the Zach Braff one wasnt the greatest, (I ended up turning it off and re-watching the Molly Shannon one), but there is definitely potential in some of the newer cast members ie. Kristen Wiig

Wiig and Sudekis should leave that sinking/sunken ship and get their own sitcom (just not based on the Two A-Holes). And, of course, Amy Poehler is magic.

Is a 4.7 a new demo high for B&S, or has it been higher this season?

I think Brothers&Sisters did very well last night. It's ratings were about that when DH was higher earlier in the season. It is smart ABC is still keeping B&S in the slot to grow into a bigger hit. It could have just moved it and put another new drama there but they want B&S to grow and nurture. Greg Berlanti is a genius plain and simple. He turned B&S into must see TV.

When she's an upright citizen, anyways.

If it wasn't for Berlanti, Brothers and Sisters would not be on the air today. You can thank the CW and the ridiculous cancellation of Everwood for that.

If only because there's very little room to go but up (I wonder how CW Now and Online Nation will compare to Reba repeats/originals on the year-to-year).

It should be easy to improve on the non-Reba Sundays for The CW. You are right that the Reba present Sundays are the ones that will provide some challenge. I'm not sure where CW Now will get 'fresh' stuff to show/discuss with so many other 'similar' shows on daily. As for Online Nation, it seems like a moderized version of AFHV. They are both on in the 7pm hour so expectations should be fairly low. The real ratings question(able) is whether or not Life is Wild can draw as much or more than 7th Heaven.

I agree that Will Farrell is funny. Unfortunately he always signs up for movies with terrible writing.

If Life is Wild can pull 7th Heaven's season average, it will probably be okay considering it will be much cheaper to produce than the longest running family drama in TV history. I'd say anything over 3 million and above a 1.2 among 18-49s should be considered successful.

So you would lump the New classics like "Old School", "Anchor Man", "Elf", "Talladega Nights: The Ballad of Ricky Bobby" in with the crap like Cone Heads, Stuart Smiley Saves his Family, PAT, Neighbors, Wiseguys, Click, and Superstar?

He may have a clunker or two (Bewitched), but is no where close to the league of a David Spade, Chris Kattan, or a Jimmy Fallon. I would put him up there With Murphy, Murry and Belushi.
