Hey Marc,

Gonna date myself here so here goes.

I was a teenager when Angie Dickinson starred in Police Woman and I was totally in love. I mean she must have been in her mid-forties when that show was made--right?? I watched that show for the four years it was on just for her. She was so damm beautiful then(never saw the show in syndication repeats--wonder why???). I would go to bed dreaming a teen's dream of the older woman--much younger man fantasy.

A year or two later I went to see "Dressed To Kill" starring Miss Dickinson--not knowing about her getting murdered in it(luckily). I remember when the elevator scene began that I said to myself"Don't worry--this is Police Woman. She will be fine." It took me a long time to get over the fact that she gets murdered in that scene and to remember that she was an actress and just playing both two different roles and damm good at it. Just like Janet Leigh in "Psycho"which this movie was a tribute to anyway. Goes to show you what an affect tv and the movies can have on us. AHH!!! Childhood memories!!!!

HMMMM MARC!!!! I wonder what scene you are talking about. Can you be more explicit??? GEE!!! Just kidding again Marc--I KNOW which scenes you are talking about. She had two of them in the movie. The opening shower scene and then bed scene with her husband and then the pickup scene after the museum folly. Yes--it brings back memories. Of Angie and youth unbridled. I would have been SALT to her PEPPER anyday. I used to wish that I was Earl Holliman protecting her and working with her and touching her. Yet they never consummated anything and their relationship was G rated. Mine would have been X rated-believe me.
Yes we are kindred spirits Marc. Glad to be here. Smiler

My true small screen "love" was Linda Gray on Dallas. To me, she was the ultimate sexy "older" woman back then. Now, I am older than she was then! Times change!!!

Ok if Shark got 15.31 million viewers, and if I am correct it was averaging 13.83 million shouldn't it have at least got an honorable mention if not labeled as a winner. I know it could be doing better considering the lead in is CSI, but remember this is a new show and it takes time. And why does it seem like the media is generally anti-Shark. I read several articles saying that since it lost a big chunk of CSI's viewership it's surprising it got a full season order.

That's the reason why, TheHunter -- the large tune-out from CSI. Since it lost about 50% of CSI's lead-in among adults 18-49, I didn't think it was worthy of Honorable Mention. But I'll keep that in mind for next week.

What is this I hear about DWTS possible coming back in the spring and possibly going up against american idol. Why do two huge ratings getters need to go up against each other -- forcing people to choose? I know that we get that with CSI and Grey's Anatomy and both are fine but often times it ends up bringing down an audience and a once 25 million audience level is reduced to 20 million. Isn't that bad overall for the tv industry in general.

Ok, thank you. Now that I see that the demos dropped by that much I understand.

ABC wants to try and destroy FOX (Although FOX seems to be destroying itself on its own). They always had it for them. So they figure, test Dancing against AI and if they are able to bring down the AI viwers, like they did with CSI, that it would be a success. This is Capitalism and it is all about the competition.

Don't forget that Greys Anatomy will add another 4-6 million viewers with those that choose to watch the repeat tonight. Viewers are catching on that they can watch CSI on Thursday and Greys on Friday or something to that effect. Being a non DVR'er I'm always making those Survivor or Ugly Betty (What am I in the mood for?) last minute decisions. Grey's being on Friday makes the 9:00 hour easy.

Hi Statgirl:

Based on the fast nationals, Supernatural started at 3.27 million viewers and dropped to 3.13 at 9:30 p.m.

Hi Marc - long time Programming Insider reader, new to the forums. Love having the opportunity for discussion. Question: would you be able to post the half-hour breakdown for Supernatural last night? Last week it declined from 3.31 to 3.00 million, so I'm curious as to whether it declined through the hour again last night. Thanks!

Well, not so steep a drop off this week for SN. That's good. All the ghosties, ghoulies, and hell hounds aside, that's the best fraternal relationship going on television, bar none. Ackles and Padalecki's chemistry is golden. Not in a simpering superficial too beautiful teen way, either. That moment at the end when the younger brother tells his older brother that they are their father's legacy....now that was emotional payoff.

Better than One Tree Hill's 3.37 to 2.91 million dropoff. Supernatural has it tough, against CSI and Grey's. It's holding its own against The OC, though.
