-Yesterday’s Winners: Deal or No Deal (NBC), Heroes (NBC), Two and a Half Men (CBS), CSI: Miami (CBS)
-Yesterday’s Losers: The Bachelor: The Women Tell All (ABC), Girlfriends (CW), The Game (CW), What About Brian (ABC), Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip (NBC)
-Ratings Breakdown: CBS and NBC shared leadership on this typically competitive Monday, with CBS first in total viewers (just 100,000 more than NBC) and NBC No. 1 among adults 18-49. ABC and Fox shared the No. 3 and 4 spots, while cellar-dweller the CW remained in the distant No. 5 spot.
It was no contest at 8 p.m., with NBC favorite Deal or No Deal at a dominant (and season-high) 16.73 million viewers and a 4.9 rating/13 share among adults 18-49. Comparably, that was improvement over year-ago occupant Surface (Viewers: 9.38 million; A18-49: 3.0/ 8 on Nov. 21, 2005) of a hefty 7.35 million viewers and 63 percent among adults 18-49. Deal or No Deal also bested the No. 2 time period occupant, Fox’s Prison Break (Viewers: 9.57 million; A18-49: 4.0/10), by 7.16 million viewers and 22 percent among adults 18-49.
Elsewhere, repeat holiday specials on ABC -- A Charlie Brown Thanksgiving (Viewers: #3, 9.37 million; A18-49: #4, 3.1/ 8) and He’s a Bully, Charlie Brown (Viewers: #3, 9.53 million; A18-49: #3, 3.3/ 8) --performed at levels close to CBS comedies How I Met Your Mother (Viewers: #4, 8.94 million; A18-49: #3, 3.2/ 9) and The Class (Viewers: #4, 8.32 million; A18-49: #4, 2.9/ 7).
CW sitcoms Everybody Hates Chris (Viewers: 3.38 million; A18-49: 1.3/ 4), which remains down by double-digit percentages from it’s year-ago Thursday performance, and All of Us (Viewers: 3.00 million; A18-49: 1.2/ 3) capped off the hour.
At 9 p.m., the real hero in the hour remains NBC’s Heroes, with 15.99 million viewers and a 6.9/16 among adults 18-49. Second were CBS comedies Two and a Half Men (Viewers: 15.28 million; A18-49: 4.7/11) and The New Adventures of Old Christine (Viewers: 11.67 million; A18-49: 3.8/ 9), followed by a repeat of Fox’s House (Viewers: 8.42 million; A18-49: 3.0/ 7), the Women Tell All edition of ABC’s goofy The Bachelor: Rome (Viewers: 7.44 million; A18-49: 2.7/ 6), and the CW’s Girlfriends (Viewers: 2.79 million; A18-49: 1.2/ 3), which has sprung a leak, and The Game (Viewers: 2.40 million; A18-49: 1.1/ 3). Comparatively, Girlfriends was down by 1.04 million viewers and 35 percent from it’s year-ago performance (Viewers: 3.83 million; A18-49: 1.7/ 4). As for The New Adventures of Old Christine, Wanda Sykes – we missed you last night.
At 10 p.m., the pecking order remained the same, with CBS’ CIS: Miami a solid first (Viewers: 18.23 million; A18-49: 5.9/15), followed by NBC’s Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip (Viewers: 7.31 million; A18-49: 3.1/ 8) and ABC’s What About Brian (Viewers: 5.35 million; A18-49: 2.4/ 6). Despite the challenging ratings, both Studio 60 and What About Brian were renewed for the full season.
Marc, what do you think the CW will do next season on Monday. Chris is the only real comedy deserving of a renewal and its airing in the timeslot that used to produce the lowest ratings for UPN sitcoms.

I absolutely love "What about Brian" I love it almost as much as "Brothers and Sisters" Why aren't you watching it? ABC should give it an airing out of desperate housewives instead of that boston legal.

you should have mentioned that Heroes hit again a season high.
And here is my post from another category:
Hey Marc, I have just read your coulumn on mediaweek.com. According to the column Studio 60 dipped last night to another season low (HH: 5.8; 7.3 million viewers) whereas Heroes reached another season high (16 million viewers).
Do you think that NBC will move (or even cancel it since it would probably do worse on another night) Studio 60 in order to use the lead-in of (its now 1st drama) Heroes for Medium, Friday Night Lights or perhaps even The Black Donnellys?
NBC needs to move it pronto, and the logical solution is to flip Studio 60 with Medium. Since NBC renewed Studio 60 for the remainder of the season, it isn't going away anytime soon.

That would help NBC on Monday, but it would also probably mean even lower ratings for Studio 60. Even though Heroes may not be the ideal lead-in, it's still a very large lead-in, and probably the only reason Studio 60 is managing a distant #2 in that timeslot.
But Medium could definitely use the boost--doubt it could beat CSI Miami, but it doesn't have to.
Marc, do you think "Brian" will get a third season at this ratings pace? They're terrible numbers and I can't imagine ABC not trying to sample this show out of another hit drama one more time, given the fact that they've renewed the show for a full season.
Am I wrong or a we looking at a potential season high for Prison Break? As I recall the highest rated episode this season attracted 9.55 million viewers.

Absolutely...by airing out of Heroes Medium could return to its old 13-14 million viewers glory (and might beat CSI: Miami among adults 18-49). A Monday like that would make NBC the dominant force (among adults 18-49 AND total viewers) on that night.
Marc, I think CBS needs to cancel both How I Met Your Mother and The Class, they seem mediocre. Also, I will like to get your take on What About Brian, it's clearly the biggest trouble of the night. Do you think ABC, will plan a time slot switch (maybe with The Nine) to try for better numbers?
