-Ratings Breakdown: NBC roared out of the winning Thursday gate courtesy of the NFL Kick-Off game. But the match-up between Indianapolis and New Orleans (Viewers: 15.56 million; A18-49: 6.4 rating/19 share in prime-time) was actually down by 3.64 million viewers and 18 percent among adults 18-49 from the year-ago Miami/Pittsburgh competition (Viewers: 19.20 million; A18-49: 7.8/23, based on the final nationals on Sept. 7, 2006).
Over at CBS, there was big doings at the Big Brother house (SPOILER ALERT: if you did not see it yet stop reading) with the double eviction of reality love-birds Jessica and America’s Choice, Eric. That leaves the dastardly Donatos: Dick and Daniele, Jameka and Zack as the final four. At this point I have to say, go Zack! Big Brother averaged 8.03 million viewers (#3) and a 3.0/10 among adults 18-49 (#2) at 8 p.m., followed by repeats of CSI (Viewers: #2, 9.36 million; A18-49: #3, 2.6/ 7) and Without a Trace (Viewers: #2, 9.60 million; A18-49: #2, 2.4/ 6) from 9-11 p.m. Without a Trace, no doubt, is a stronger option than former occupant Shark (which now airs on Sunday) in the Thursday 10 p.m. hour.
The second-season premieres of Fox’s non-scripted Are You Smarter Than a 5th Grader? (Viewers: #2, 8.20 million; A18-49: #3, 2.5/ 8) and Don’t Forget the Lyrics (Viewers: #3, 8.09 million; A18-49: #2, 2.9/ 8) were noticeable improvements from former occupants ‘Til Death, Happy Hour and reality/competition Celebrity Duet.
ABC finished in the distant No. 4 spot courtesy of repeats of Ugly Betty (Viewers: #4, 4.30 million; A18-49: #4, 1.3/ 4), Grey’s Anatomy (Viewers: #4, 4.07 million; A18-49: #4, 1.4/ 4) and Men in Trees (Viewers: #3, #3, 3.39 million; A18-49: #3, 1.1/ 3). And repeats of the CW’s Smallville (Viewers: #5, 1.87 million; A18-49: #5, 0.8/ 3) and Supernatural (Viewers: #5, 1.54 million; A18-49: #5, 0.6/ 2) were at typical non-original levels. And there you have it…that’s Thursday.
Upsetting news about Big Brother. I really liked Eric and Jessica. While her whining is unbearable, Danielle deserves to win at this point. Jameka has done nothing, Zach is a bum, and Dick is a dick. Glad to see ratings high though.
I find it interesting that how preemptions can really inflat the ratings. Last week, the numbers for SV and SN were way above the 2 million mark and this week, their ratings were below the 2 million mark. It is all very interesting.
I'm a bit upset at the NFL ratings number. If only the game was closer, it could have done better than last season's opener but I also have a feeling that despite a close game, the ratings for Saints/Colts might have been less anyway. Doesn't bode too well for me in my recent PIFC games - let's see how Sunday Night Football does but I suspect ratings may be down that night compared to last year.

what has danielle done? she was protected by her father the whole time...yes she won POV's and HOH's but so did zach & dick...jameka won a pov but could not compete in hoh's (per that one pov competition)...
dick imo deserves the win but the hatred for him by the jurors is strong...he may beat zach due to his social skills and possibly danielle to her "hiding" behind him but will fall to jameka.
zach has played the game poorly...he will lose to everyone
danielle whines way to much and is not well liked...her social game was bad too...
jameka has allies in the jury house...she is dicks biggest threat.
i hate this season, producer interference was so evident that it ruined the show for me...

Sorry to burst your bubble, Marc but the best bet to win on Big Brother now is Daniele. Zach is, nonetheless, coming on strong with winning 2 recent and important challenges. Only way Zach can win is if he's paired up with Dick, but then again, Dick may even win that matchup. We'll see.

I did not see the show last night. What happened exactly? How did Eric take leaving?

There was a moment when he stood at the door ready to exit when he almost was able to man up and lash back at the Donatos when he told them "you just sent the lawyer from Philadelphia to the jury" but immediatly reverted back to his cowardly self and started kissing up to them saying he didn't blame them, its a game yada yada. And to the fury of Jen fans everywhere when they told them to give their regards to Jen Eric "wittily" replied he hoped Jen was dead by a shark attack. Jerk-wad to the end.
Best case now is for the Gangsta God to come down and let Jameka win HOH so Zach can go on the block and get booted...there is now way this floater with no game should somehow make his way to the final two.
He seemed at peace with it. Eric seemed more hurt that Jessica got voted out, but now he gets to join her in the jury house, despite not packing any of his belongings.
He told Julie that being America's Player ruined his game and he would have gotten rid of the Donatos and Zach a long time ago.

I would have thought it would have done better, but those numbers should go up since the pre-game show was factored in.

Peace!!
Yes, and last week the final numbers for both Smallville and Supernatural tumbled under 2 million.
I hope we never have another America's player again.
