Thanks Marc. It is so frustrating to see such a good show, have less people watching it every year. Does anyone else think the DVR has come into factor for SN?

Peace!!

Both CSI and GA really dropped in the demo from last week. GA went from an 8.7 to a 7.4, and CSI from an 8.0 to a 6.3!

Total viewers for each were down too - I guess that makes some sense from the premiere.

Playoff baseball on TBS may have contributed slightly to the lower #s for most shows.

I heard Lex Luthor doesn't want to play the character anymore next season. So Smallville's survival really depends on Mike R. Supernatural's numbers is as expected, since the season 1 finale ended with 4 million viewers and the season 2 premiere was at 4 million and season 2 ends at 2.78 million and the season 2 premieres at around that number.

I think Csi and ga will always be like this each week. agree to disagree that they are the top 2 shows on tv right now, until american idol comes back on.

Another interesting night. Let's see what happens next week without Seinfeld before we declare 30 Rock a hit. Greys and Ugly Betty continue their decline but CSI's demo drop is almost equally alarming. ER is nearly run out of gas and Big Shots is a major flop. Supernatural definitely underperformed because the timeslot is much easier than before, and I'm not buying this it was free on i-Tunes nonsense. Its down by just as much as anything else. Smallville's ability to keep viewers interested after all these seasons deserves kudos. Fox continues to see year to year gains.

I think CW would be better pairing SN with Reaper Tues and trying GG after Smallville. Then put B&G after AMNTM on Wed. Can't do much worse than what they've got now and maybe they can retain some of their 8P numbers.

The numbers for CSI was hyped last episode from the Did Sara die question. And season premieres are always higher than the ordinary run numbers.

I've heard about Michael Rosenbaum, but the producers have been talking more and more about a season 8 for a while now. I think Michael would return. I thinnk a season 8 is likely.

Season 1's finale had 6 million viewers. The season 2 premiere had 8.7 million viewers, and the season 2 finale had 7.5 million viewes.

Marc or Travis, do you think the ratings for SN last night were what the CW was expecting? Thanks.

Peace!

I agree with Mushu. Supernatural definitely underperformed this season, however all shows are on the decline.

Even a down ER is still a player and not time to quit. The quality of the show is very good. And with the weakest of all the lead ins, it still almost won in 18-49. I don't see why Betty, 30 Rock and Earl are worth positively noting, but ER, with better 18-49 numbers, is told to quit.

As for Supernatural, that's very disappointing Frowner

I'm not sure where you're coming that the competition was easier. The Office was added on, so, no, the competition got harder. Not that I don't think SN could have done better, but, it's not and easier slot.

The only positive news for SN is that it is doing slightly better than the new shows CW programmed. SV on the other hand is doing really well.

Being on at 9 is a killer, but will that continue to be livable for the CW as you say?. That's a 960,000 drop from the last year's premiere's final number(3.93 million). Do you think things will get any better once The Office is no longer an hour?. Supernatural is the CW's best show, not that there is a lot to choose from, so they should do whatever they can.

4.56 million is still pretty positive for Smallville. If it stays steady and consistent, there is no doubt in my mind that there will be a season 8. What else has the CW got?.

Supernatural underperformed because the time slot is much easier than before?. You mean harder?. What with the added The Office being an hour and the usual two killer shows, CSI and Grey's.
