Because the other two have at least a chance of pulling mass audiences. We've seen it before. Pushing Daisies doesn't. I like the show but its unaccessible to the general viewing public. Its time to ship Daisies elsewhere and find something to lead off Wednesdays with.

Yes but given how this season is going everywhere but on older skewing CBS, ABC is far from out of it. They should still reclaim the demo lead this week. They really botched Wednesdays though and Tuesdays and Mondays aren't going to look pretty here next week either.

Agree with the peanut gallery that CBS needs to be patient with the 8p comedy block. Against weak competition, both shows are slowly ticking upward in both overall and demo, and has the chance of being a solid #2 behind Bones in the timeslot.
ABC needs to give Pushing Daisies a rest. Perhaps a one-shot re-launch following, say, the Tuesday DWTS recap in February?
I think the CBS sitcoms are actually doing pretty well considering they're on a new night - at times last year the Monday night comedies went down to around 8mil.
It's sad about Pushing Daisies. I'm surprised PP isn't doing better, but maybe that's down to its shortened season last year. I haven't seen last night's ep yet, but last week's was great.
I'm happy Bones is continuing to do so well. I hope Fox realise what a treasure it has there now. It may not make a lot of noise, but it has loyal fans.

Why NBC felt we needed more Lipstick Jungle is the real question and I've argued that all along Tuesdays at 9 behind one hour Biggest Loser episodes was where it had the best shot to succeed, but at this point, I'd just pull it and slate Law and Order for a November premiere. The other option would be a Knight Rider, Law and Order, Life Friday night with My Own Worst Enemy going post-DOND on Wednesdays and Medium going to Mondays at 10. Momma's Boy could then air Wed. at 8.
So, for the second week in a row, the numbers for the soon to be off the air Boston Legal were better (in viewers) than all of ABC's still living and breathing Wednesday night. Oh boy.
Pushing Daisies would make a nice Saturday Series as will Eli Stone. Both should do the rest of their runs on that night. (Trust me, Eli will be DOA this year.) Sat nights can be the new home for quirky TV shows on ABC.
