The Tony Rock show should have opened higher due to the promos that were everywhere. With Funniest Moments, the concept seemed like another clip show. I have a feeling a lot of the audience didn't understand the difference from this show and some of the others. MNTV can get a ratings boost from Eddie Griffin and Damon Wayans (assuming it comes to MNTV). So the night can build.

After a week of successful launches for MyNetworkTV, Mr. Meidel has a few things to fix.
'Celebrity Expose' did awful numbers on Monday, the same as what it did in encores, and it really dragged down the time-period premiere of 'Magic's Biggest Secrets Finally Revealed'. Quick action is needed there...pull 'Expose' and use them as schedule fillers in December, and put a 'Magic's' encore in at 8 pm.
I'm shocked at the low sample number for 'The Tony Rock Show', especially given the mammoth promotion across MyNetworkTV and FOX affiliates. The opening episode couldn't even out-do the 'Twilight Zone' encores it replaced. And the 'Under One Roof' encore did poorly for a sitcom that had been rested for the last several months...that 0.3 A18-49 simply won't suffice on the stronger MyNetworkTV.
While the 'Eddie Griffith Sketch Show' and the Damon Wayans sitcom 'Never Better' (a rumoured pick-up from ABC's development slate discard pile) could conceivably be readied for mid-season, MyNetworkTV has a weaker-than-expected Wednesday 8-9 pm hour for the near term. But then again, isn't every network struggling Wednesdays at 8-9 pm, save for FOX and The CW?
One area of hope for MyNetworkTV on Wednesday was the opening number for Mr. Arsenio Hall's 'World's Funniest Moments', which opened with a relatively strong 0.8HH/1%, 0.5 A18-49 and 1,280,000 viewer level. This was a bit above the 0.8HH/1%, 0.42 A18-49 and 1,190,000 viewer average that MNT got for the five 'Funniest Moments' specials that aired last season. It was great to see Mr. Hall back on television, being funny and irreverent as he interacted with the studio audience viewing the funniest clips assembled from the Internet and those product-placement takeoff segments that were as good as anything seen on 'Saturday Night Live'.

'Til Death and Lipstick Jungle should be off the air before next week, but they probably won't be. DSM is more of a failure than PD given the increase they should be getting just from HUT levels and lead-in. As with last year, nothing is doing well at 8pm Wednesday. Bones deserves a lot of praise for doing as well as it does in this TV watching dead zone. Project Runway had part 1 of that 2 part finale. Hopefully those fans will sample Stylista when it starts up on the CW in that same timeslot. Stylista is being brought to TV by the same people behind Project Runway and ANTM. Also, ANTM has anumber of models working in the Project Runway finale. Lots of crossover potential for these two shows. Hopefully, Bravo/Lifetime, and the Weinsteins don't destroy it with their bickering.
Hahah, no, I stayed up late... but I'm on the west coast, so 3am isn't all that bad for a Thursday. I'm intrigued by Stylista and was pleased to see an ad for it during Project Runway. With ANTM flagging, the show needs to rely on more than just that audience sticking around. But I think it will be the most successful thing out of ANTM yet (retention-wise). I wonder how fast they can put together a second cycle to pair with ANTM's March-May cycle?

Probably in that range, could be as high as 23. As with CSI: Miami, I would expect sizable drop-off from this premiere next week. Though I think it has a real shot at eclipsing Grey's A18-49 rating this week.
Its not a bad pickup if they do some tweaking with the format. Moce it a way from the "Survivor" format and more like Amazing Race. Less individual interviews and "alliances" and more of the interaction of the Japanese Culture and game show.

I want the genre to succeed!
that statement would make sense if you watch Gary Unmarried and decided that you didn't like it. However, if you don't even try to watch the new sitcoms, you are just part of the representation to networks that they should not waste time trying to revive the genre. If they can't get sitcom fans to sample the new sitcoms, how can they be expected to get non-sitcom fans back to the TV sets with sitcoms?
I just have not had the time to sample Gary Unmarried yet. I may like, I may not. At some point I will give it a shot

It is just not as good as it was. I am not even recording the show any more. Oh well! I guess I was hoping that after four seasons the writers would take this show somewhere, but it seems like they are dragging the storyline again.
Peace!!
You're in the minority. I think this is the best season yet.

Now in order to continue getting thses individual market numbers, we (the forum as a whole) need to start playing the PIFC games. Each time we hit 30 players, Douglas will relase the Market ratings up to that point and time.
The more often we hit the magic 30 number in a game, the more often and consistant we will get these ratings.
