ABC's collection will likewise be very impressive, once Eli Stone is axed, and of course PD can still join the list if it continues to tank next season.

Ouch! That's quite a drop in only two weeks. With this dropping the way it is against repeats, OBG is going to be in real trouble when Cold Case comes back on CBS and NBC starts running Psych against it in a couple of weeks.

And if OBG continues to drop, Newlyweds probably will too.

Flops
ABC: Carpoolers, Cavemen, BS, CM
NBC: Journeyman, BW, LJ
CBS: Captain, Cane, VL
FOX: Canterbury, KVille, NA, B2Y, NGAB, Nashville, JJ, Unhitched
CW: CW

Feel free to add anything I missed, but that is an impressive collection of flops for FOX.

Edit: how could I forget VL? Big Grin

Reluctant as I am to utter it, I shall concede that MyNetworkTV had its share of flops this season to add to Zitrones list, but it's not a very lengthy list, and that is due to the cautious skill that Mr. Meidel has followed in patiently programming and building the network up from its doomy days of despair of last winter:

MNT: NFL Network Total Access, Control Room Presents

I know that you desperately cling to the hope that New Amsterdam will be deemed a complete failure since you declared it to be the worst show of the year, but the ratings so far do not support your claim to put it on this list above. I also wonder why you put several reality shows on FOX's list when you claimed you were only talking about scripted shows.

For NBC, you named every new scripted series they aired except Chuck and Life. Fair enough.

For CBS, you named every new scripted series they aired except for BBT and Moonlight. I still think Moonlight is 'iffy' and probably leans to the 'flop' list.

For ABC, you named a bunch, but you still need to add Dirty Sexy Money and Eli Stone to the 'flop' list, IMO.

Why do you say that? Zitrone was talking about scripted programming and MNTV seems to be out of that business this TV season.

CW comedies on Sunday were a terrible idea. I thought so when they came up with it and the ratings reflect it. If there is any doubt that Aliens in America is getting cancelled, today's ratings seals the deal. CW Now did better some weeks than this latest number.

Well then, by your interpretation of Zitrone's list, MyNetworkTV is flop-free. All please ignore my earlier posting.

I must have missed that it was an all-scripted list as Zitrone's list did include Nashville and America's Next Top Rock Band which seem kind of unscripted to me.

And MyNetworkTV is not out of the scripted business as it has the new sitcom from Mr. Flavor Flav called "Under One Roof" that is set to debut Wednesday April 16th at 8:00 pm and that sets up a Flavor vs. Tyra battle for fifth place bragging rights.

I agree with you on NA. It's too early to say either way. If it continues it's drop, it will earn the "failure" label. If it evens out, it won't be a hit, but it won't be a failure either.

I think Moonlight is more 'iffy' than "flop" The numbers were never great, but it did maintain the vast majority of its audience throughout it's run (which very few shows this year can claim).

ES has gotten 7 million/ 2.4 for the last 4 weeks, which, while again not great, is better than BS was doing with a much better lead-in.

Don't forget that MyTV will have the long running scripted WWE Smackdown come next fall. Wink

Yep. Since MNTV doesn't have any scripted programming, it doesn't qualify for a discussion on network abilities.

Zitrone was attempting to 'bash' FOX in his series of posts so he brought in extra shows, only for FOX, in an attempt to bolster his opinion that they are a total failure.

You can get back to us in mid April to see if Flavor Flav is actually scripted (more so that any of the MTV style 'dating' shows...and if it is as much of a success as you have predicted. What was it you predicted about Paradise Hotel again? Have you predicted anything less than over the top success for any MNTV show?

True enough. The real test for Eli Stone would come if it ever faced real first run competition.

Correct, NGAB and Nashville shouldn't have been on the list. Still, awful year for new scripted shows on FOX, with only SCC above flop level.

I don't have anything against NA since I only watched the first half-hour of the pilot, but losing 1 point demo per episode is not promising (starting at 4.5). We will see how it performs tonight.

6 shows out of 7 being complete flops, and the last one only slightly disappointing, is not a complete failure?

FOX would be happy to have ML or PD numbers for a new show now.

Is that going to happen this season or will it run out of episodes before WAT comes back?

Well, I was less than sanguine about Whacked Out Videos and it continues to surprise.
