Here comes the homophobic. Trust me there are way worse problems with GA. They just recycle the same stupid soap story for the 100th time and the medical cases are plain boring and are mostly drwoning in the soap part.

It's hardly homophobic. Taking an established character that's been hetero for years turning her all of a sudden gay is stupid. GA just throws people together to see if they stick without applying viewers reaction to turn out. They had a formula in the early seasons that worked and they trashed it to be a glorfied daytime soap.

What was the formula?

Given ABC's other problems, I think that Life on Mars will remain on the air for now. All of the Wednesday and Friday lineup is doing worse along with Eli Stone and Boston Legal.

Actually, the Friday lineup is doing very good.

You are accepting a lower standard on Friday and giving credit to the junk ABC airs for its 'low cost', but really, the shows are not doing well. ABC would be better off using those shows as 'counter-programming' on some other night...and they should not have cancelled Women's Murder Club.

Grey's has always had major soap elements. If you remember the first season opening credits, they were of a couple of doctors getting it on on an operating table.

Hahn has been there less than a year.

I agree. It was a bad sign when the creators mentioned that they wanted to move away from the list. And that was only in its third season.

Smallville isn't down (based on only Fast nationals) 430,000 (thats based on last years finals), last years Fast Nationals were 4.50 million a decline of 280,000 roughly a decline of 6% in viewers. (though its been down almost every week compared to last year).

Supernatural was down 20,000 viewers or just slightly over .6% in viewers.

Now both shows last year had a big change in finals Smallville increasing in viewers Supernatural decreasing so we will have to see finals before we can judge.

Finals last year 4.648 for Smallville, 3.178 for Supernatural.

So its quite possible that Supernatural will be up year to year again.

It seems like NBC's numbers were lower for all their shows. Even The Office was lower. This is not a good sign when 30 Rock returns.

K&K needs to be pulled. Under 5 million in viewers? I know NBC has a track record of keeping low rated comedies, but those ratings are terrible. The problem being what to replace it with. 1 hour MNIE's might be a good temporary option.

UB had a slight ratings increase but its still lower than it should be. LOM stabilized a bit in the ratings but with the overrun, the ratings will go lower.

Too bad FOX can't air baseball on Thursdays everyday. Much better than their normal Thursday numbers.

Maybe The Office is down because of the lack of Jim&Pam. They're the reason many people, me included, like the show. The other characters are annoying and I just tolerate them because of the cuteness of Jim and Pam, they acentuate how special they are. But now that Pam's away indefinitely i'm considering droping the show myself for now at least. There's just too many shows on Thursday.

Far as I'm concerned, there's just one show on Thursday, and it's The Office. And there's been more than enough Jim and Pam--Michael and Holly are a cuter couple, anyway. M&H4EVR!!! (Or until Amy Ryan's contract is up, anyway.) Big Grin

It's not the kind of show that can repeat itself forever--its audience is going to be less patient than the audience for Raymond or 2.5 Men. I'm encouraged by the lower ratings, because I don't want it to stay on much longer. Frankly, five seasons would be enough, though I think it'll run at least one more.

As long as Michael & Holly end up together, they can end it any way they like. M&H4EVR!!!! (They can bring Amy Ryan back for the finale).

It was just such a bad idea from the very beginning to air LOM out of GA. ABC seems to never have heard something about audience flow.....because having many females as lead-in isn't helping a male show like LOM at all.

I really think that LOM would have been much better of with one of the DWTS lead-ins on Monday or Tuesday (even though it's a female lead-in as well for a great part but at least an older one more into procedurals)....going against CSI:M on Monday however wouldn't have been good either so therefore it maybe should have been on Tuesday at 9 out of a DTWS result show at 8.

Umm...I'm pretty sure Life On Mars is a procedural (and a quite good one at that).

That was a great episode of "The Office" as well.

Well that's just you. For many people there's many choices at 9pm on Thursday. I like Amy Ryan, she was good on The Wire and she's cute here, but Michael isn't and I don't get why she likes him, so that's not reason enough for me to watch. I'm invested in Jim&Pam and I want them working together in the office! As do many people. (Jam 4EVER&EVER \o/ they kick those weirdos ass Big Grin)

Just forget the third season of "Earl" existed. It was a bad dream. Like that season of "Dallas" where Bobby Ewing was dead. Or that season of "Married... with Children" where they had Seven. Or that season of "According to Jim" where... well, every season of "According to Jim."

The coma episodes were trash. Just flat out trash. The negatives to them should be burned. I don't blame anybody who suffered through them to have washed their hands, but they aren't making those mistakes anymore, and the show deserves another chance. Although it's never going to regain its ratings glory, I feel it has regained its quality.

"Better Off Ted," Wednesdays at some time or another at some point or another in the near future. Because we can't all live in mansions and not ever work like the people on "Modern Family."
