Hmmm, maybe because he's the lead and practically the whole show?

There are a lot of things besides Caruso that make this show bad. The worst actress on American television being one of them (Emily 'Blank Stare' Procter) being one of those. Another being the wearing of high heels and designer pant suits to crime scenes (even beach/sand scenes)...etc. etc.
I'm really shocked it gets the ratings it does. Guilty pleasure is all that I can come up with because it is not a good show by any means other than guilty pleasure.
CSI: NY is at the other spectrum. It is boring as all get out, but it isn't all out bad as Miami is.
It just doesn't have that guilty pleasure trait that Miami does and it doesn't have the critical praise/star athlete syndrome that the original has. It's sort of in between and can slide by easier.

Interesting...you just asked 'why watch good tv?'
I havent deleted them yet, I'm still deciding whether or not to delete them...

It's the best new show this season.. you should watch it!
The acting on CSI Miami is hilariously bad. Epically bad, in fact. The only reason to watch it is for the pictures and the camera work. I'm loving the view on my plasma in Hi Def, but I don't really follow what's on the screen, because it's just so awful.
Something I don't get, because the original CSI, the Thursday version, is one of my favorite shows. Although, I'm a bit nervous about what's to happen when Peterson leaves in a few weeks.

What does everyone think about LOM being moved to Mondays at 10pm in January, after BL has its run. You might get those viewers that are FINALLY tired of CSI: Miami's bad acting to swtich over and may get some of the HEROES crowd to flip the channel.

Incorrect. Obama skews much younger than CBS!
Seriously, CBS is actually not doing that well, in terms of ad rates, because many advertisers are obsessed with the elusive A18-34s. CBS is doing well in A18-49s, but not A18-34s. Over at tvbythenumbers.com, you can see that CSI got stomped in A18-34s by The Office/SNL and Grey's, while 11th Hour tied for last place among A18-34s. This will translate to relatively poor ad rates, at least compared to what you'd expect. And never mind the total viewer numbers -- those are really totally irrelevant to the "mad men."

The bad acting is across the board and even affects guest stars. The writing, the dialog and even the direction is very sub-par, IMO.
CSI: NY is leaps and bounds better then CSI: MIami, as far as the quality of the product is concerned.

Keeping LJ on schedule is a poor choice. I don't see it doing any better on Fridays in a lower viewing timeslot. It only got 4 million on Wednesdays. It will be lucky to get 3 million on Fridays. Obviously it's just a burnoff to fill a hole.
Life on Wednesday will increase its profile. It will increase its ratings and demos. It also fits well with Law and Order. After January, it always can go back to Fridays at 10 PM replacing Lipstick Jungle.
L&O coming in is a good move. It will do much better than LJ in that timeslot and should compete with CSI NY.

I watch an epiode of Life on Mars and I see a realistic crime drama about actual crime issues police would face. Compare that with the promos for CSI where people have been killed in specific posed positions, painted up, and placed as art: totally ridiculous show that insults the viewers intelligence.
Yea, that criminal taking money from check cashing places was real "Riviting", last week. I will agree that LOM is better than CSI: Miami... but then again, what isn't?

But don't you think it would be better if Life was a lead-out of Law and Order instead of a lead-in?

Yep. A show about police doing somewhat police work is much more riveting than one of these shows that portrays criminals as if they were comic book super-villian characters. The CSIs, Fringe, Eleventh Hour, Numbers, etc... type shows are just propaganda machines designed to make people believe that the bad guys are really sophisticated and that you better dump millions into FBI/CIA/Homeland Security/etc.. type defenses if you want to survive over the next few years.
