Note: Any prior rating results are based on the final nationals. Since the level of DVR penetration has increased from 20 percent at this same point last year to approximately 28 percent at present, the overall results may be negatively impacted.
----------
-Saturday’s Winners: College Football: Penn State vs. Ohio State (ABC)
-Saturday’s Losers (excluding repeats): America’s Toughest Jobs (NBC), The World Series, Game 3: Philadelphia vs. Tampa Bay (Fox), 48 Hours Mystery (CBS)
----------
-Ratings Breakdown: ABC took center stage on this sports-fueled Saturday, with the College Football match-up between Penn State and Ohio State at an estimated 9.43 million viewers and a 3.2 rating/10 share among adults 18-49 in prime-time. Keep in mind, of course, that results for any live sporting event are always approximate. As I always say, viewers will respond on Saturday with the right programming options.
The World Series on Fox, unfortunately, took a hit opposite football, with game three of Philadelphia versus Bay at an estimated 7.29 million viewers and a 2.1/ 7 among adults 18-49 for the prime-time portion from 8-11 p.m. While this is an improvement over the regularly scheduled Cops and America’s Most Wanted, this could be an historical low for the World Series. Ouch!
CBS finished third overall in total viewers and adults 18-49 with its combination of a repeat of NCIS (Viewers: #2, 6.92 million; A18-49: #3, 1.4/ 5), a repeat of Without a Trace (Viewers: #2, 7.29 million; A18-49: #3, 1.4/ 4) and the long-running 48 Hours Mystery (Viewers: #3, 6.20 million; A18-49: #4, 1.3/ 4), which could not compete. And NBC capped off the evening with reality/competition America’s Toughest Jobs (Viewers: #4, 3.07 million; A18-49: #4, 0.7/ 2), a repeat of The Office (Viewers: #4, 2.13 million; A18-49: #4, 0.6/ 2), and the three repeat episodes of Saturday Night Live Weekend Update, which aired for three consecutive Thursdays (Viewers: #3, 5.25 million; A18-49: #3, 1.9/ 6 from 9:30-11 p.m.). Poor NBC!

I kind of expected those numbers for the World Series since the game started so late and ended around 2am!
The Without a Trace repeat did pretty well in terms of viewership.
ATJ is doing terrible. However, the repeat of SNL did not do all that bad in the demo.
dumont, what is the lowest rating ever for NBC? How close is that repeat of The Office?

Well, this will probably be the lowest rated Series of all time (The Rays, MLB's Sanitonio Spurs?), but the game didn't start until around 10:00 if I am not mistaken. So, the numbers from last night should be a wash.
Originally posted by robert: That's an historical low for baseball's World Series by 4 millions (the previous was match 2 of this year actually). Amazing
We need to have a break down of all of this because Til Death repeats were airing in there too and I'm guessing those didn't pull much more if even 4 million. The actual game which aired later on was much better and probably picked up significantly after prime time and when football was over.

Ok, not a baseball fan, didn't know that happened (Marc as well i see) but the fact that it started at 10 won't help very much i suppose. It's still gonna be an historic low, and by a big margin
Originally posted by robert: I'm sorry i was wrong that's an historical low by 5.5 million viewers. How is this even possible?
The game didn't start until 10pm est. Those numbers are really just pre-game and Til Death repeats from 8 to 10. I'm sure the numbers will pick up for the post-primetime portion.
