Absolutely nothing surprising about these numbers... except maybe CBS's comedy block not tanking to the degree I expected.

We'll see if ABC can successfully relaunch it's Wednesday next week... the varying degrees of success of that relaunch *is* something I'm interested to see.

NBC: What the hell were they thinking with this schedule? Lipstick Jungle could possibly find an audience out of the Biggest Loser, but no way out of older skewing Got Talent. Knight Rider should've been a Friday show if it were to air on any night. I thought a Friday lineup of Knight Rider, Law and Order, and Life would've made more sense this year. Me thinks Medium will end up back on Wednesdays unless things really crash and burn for My Own Worst Enemy (also likely to happen but I'm guessing they'll keep trying newcomers post-Heroes).

ABC: I'm not really sure why Private Practice and Dirty Sexy Money didn't debut last night but given the speech, I'm okay with it.

CBS: Gary and Christine were really quite funny last night. Let's see what happens in the coming weeks. The growth through the hour is encouraging. If I were the eye, I'd toss Worst Week to the dogs now and give Gary an encore this Monday post-2.5 Men. If it does well, give it that slot and shove Rules of Engagement on Wed. at 8:30. Solid CM and CSI:NY although they faced virtually nothing. It will be interesting to see if ABC's female viewers return next Wednesday.

Fox: Bones was solid. Bush killed any chance of folks sticking around for Til Death, although ratings would've probably been low either way. One thing for Death though is that last night's ep was about 10x funnier than recent ones. See ya Do Not Disturb. I expect that to be the second cancellation of the season, behind Hole in the Wall, which was pulled for this evening.

CW: Solid Top Model. 90210 benefited from the Bush speech.

Pretty good night for THE CW, the Encore numbers for 90210 are great.

One TV movie would have been enough.

I have a feeling by episode 3, you are going to see it hit the 5.5 million viewer range.

I think of the three ABC shows, the one that has the best chance is actually Dirty Sexy Money. Great reviews for the new season. Me thinks it has the chance to grow out of Private Practice in the long run. Lipstick Jungle will likely be toast by next Thursday. Perhaps they should try that on Tuesdays and shorten Biggest Loser to an hour?

And none would have been best of all, but The Iron Law of Hollywood is that EVERYTHING MUST BE REMADE. At least once.

Great for Criminal Minds!
Strong ratings for a fantastic episode. Shemar Moore deserves an Emmy.
Sadly, Criminal Minds is the only good show left on TV.
There was once a great show about two brothers fighting supernatural evil beings, but that is long gone replaced by a show about half naked bimbos, lame pop culture jokes and furry angels.

I agree that something will be filling the Wednesday at 10 PM slot very soon. Is Medium ready to go yet? It could definately work in favor of Life or Law and Order if they are needed elsewhere (and I have a feeling there will be multiple holes needing to be filled by November).

I totally agree, and DSM was getting buzz right before the writer's strike hit.

Fantabulous!

For some reason, I watched this again last night. It's so fascinatingly bad, it's practically hypnotic. For a show whose only reason for existing seems to be to see how many T&A jokes they can cram into 21 minutes, it's surprising how butt ugly the cast is. The women are hot tranny messes. The series creator is better-looking than the guys. As I said in another thread, a total waste of Conny Boettger's brilliant set design.

And am I mistaken, or are all of the EPs non-writing producers except for Higginbotham? Always a good sign. Especially when most of them came from reality TV.

I agree.

Old Christine is a Veteran, on the bubble (ratingswise), series that leads into a new series.

Both of the shows should stay here until mid January, if not longer. Plus once DWTS is out of the slot in a couple of weeks, We should see a bump in the numbers.

Season four of CBS’ relocated The New Adventures of Old Christine opened the evening for the Eye net with a fourth-place 6.70 million viewers and a 2.1/ 6 among adults 18-49 at 8 p.m. That led into the premiere of the painfully generic Gary Unmarried, with 6.84 million viewers and a 2.3/ 6 in the demo at 8:30 p.m. (also No. 4). One year earlier, failed occupant Kid Nation averaged a stronger 7.62 million viewers and a 2.8/ 8 among adults 18-49 in this time period.

You'll see a bump as people stop watching Knight Rider.

Perhaps that explains why GU was higher rated than Old Christine. They were done watching KR after just a few Minutes. Big Grin

Although America's Next Top Model is not the hit it was 2 seasons back, it's nice to see that it appears to have settled above the 2.0 demo, which it rarely hit last season.

The CW should also be happy with those 90210 repeat numbers since they nearly duplicated the numbers for the original on Tuesday.

Anytime you have a show that is solid, CBS would be wise to show some patience. Especially since this show has come along way from it's very mediocre to poor first season (in terms of quality). The show has been consistently funny since last year and I think (hope/pray) the numbers will only go up from here because I really believe in this show and that it will find an audience.

As for Gary. I'm glad people here and on other boards seem to like this show. I do believe it is one that could find its groove if given a chance and it's miles above cable attempts at humor like Bill Engvall.
