-Ratings Breakdown:
ABC aired The Emmy Awards, but football-ignited NBC still dominated Sunday with a hefty advantage over the No. 2 network (CBS in total viewers; ABC among adults 18-49) of 7.38 million viewers and 128 in the demo.
Dallas vs. Green Bay on NBC’s Sunday Night Football scored an estimated 18.50 million viewers and an 8.0 rating/19 share among adults 18-49 for the prime-time portion (from 8:15-11 p.m. ET). Earlier in the evening on NBC was pre-game Football Night in America at 8.78 million viewers (#2) and a 3.5/10 among adults 18-49 (#2) in the 7 p.m. hour (which included part of the actual game in the Central Time Zone). Keep in mind, of course, that results for any live sporting event are approximate.
ABC opened the evening with 7 p.m. special Jimmy Kimmel’s Big Night of Stars at a not-so-big 4.63 million viewers (#4) and a 1.2/ 4 among adults 18-49 (#4) from 7-8 p.m. Stay in late night, please, Mr. Kimmel. That led into The 60th Annual Prime-time Emmy Awards at a below-average 12.24 million viewers and a 3.8/ 9 share among adults 18-49 from 8-11 p.m. Take a look at the half-hour breakdown:

One year earlier, The 59th Annual Prime-time Emmy Awards on Fox averaged 12.93 million viewers and a 4.3/11 among adults 18-49 on Sunday, Sept. 16, 2007.
CBS was on the map, in particular, due to a prime-time football overrun, which led into 60 Minutes, two repeat episodes of Cold Case and a repeat of Criminal Minds. But since the individual program averages are not accurate due to the football overrun, here are the results for CBS by half-hour:
