Agreed. Good move CW, and good move with reruns tonight.

The two nights which have pulled The CW's average down the most have been Sundays and Mondays, and their biggest night is Fridays (averaged 1.65 in A18-49).

This is really sad that the freakin Death Star can pull Fox over a Superbowl-fueled CBS. CBS even has decent shows among 18-49! Its just amazing.
I personally, can't wait to see Idol take a hard fall and Fox crash and burn even worse than ABC post-Millionaire.

American Idol is only going to die, when idiot people who doesn't have talent realize it and not audition.

How many times is Forrest Gump gonna air? Are the nets trying to break the record of how many times they air the same movie, as they did with Thunder Road & True Grit?

Thankfully, there are lotsa sports channels & special-interest channels on TV now, so we're no longer stuck with a choice of either watching something on the nets we don't wanna see, or turning off the TV.

I think eventually America gets tired of any show. However even if American Idol doesn't die I still think it won't always be the ratings monster it is.

This is possible. It could become the AFV of Fox.

Of course, "They" have been saying this about Idol for the past couple of seasons and it just gets bigger and BIGGER.

The end is NOT in sight.

fyi
ABC’s telecast of the Academy Awards ran long last night, but it still looks like it will better last year’s much-shorter broadcast.

The show averaged a 27.7 household rating and 42 share from 8:30 p.m. to midnight, according to Nielsen metered market ratings, up from last year’s 27.1/40. The 2006 awards ended at 11:28 p.m. while last night’s ran past midnight.

This year’s average was down from 2005’s 30.1/43 and 2004’s 29.8/43 but much better than 2003’s 25.5/37, when the awards hit a record low rating.

MediaLife reports the Oscars averaged 27.1HH/40% in the metered markets from 8:30 pm to midnight, with a peak rating of 29.0HH at the 10 pm half hour. The number is down from 2005 and 2004, but up from 2003.

It will be around for a long time. Unlike other shows that have had a sudden fall from grace, FOX does a good job giving it 7 months off so when it comes back viewers are ready to watch.
