But either way, I can see them having 32 more eps--frankly, I wish it was less. If ABC wants to shorten the last season even further, it's fine with me. Cut out more of the Kate&Jack schmoopy scenes.
I can handle Jack and Kate. They're doomed. They make each other miserable. There's at least some kind of interesting character dynamics at play. It's the unending Sawyer/Kate angst and true love that's killing me. We all know they're going to end up together. Just get it over with.
And maybe Sawyer will end up with Juliet, now that they're together on the island without Kate or Jack...
Originally posted by lordi: Ratings aside, what does everyone think the format is going to be for Lost's next season? Entirely off Island? Flashbacks? Flashforwards? Are we even going to have any flashes?
I think it's going to be set it two times, both mainly on the island:
- one, the time we have gotten used to, with Locke and the others on the island, picking up where that left off - the other with Jack, Kate, et al returning to the island and showing us what happens then
Since three years had passed from the time they left the island till we saw Jack at the funeral parlor, I would assume events happening on the island would be the flashbacks and everything happening now would be present time.
"(I don't blame the viewers for refusing to watch this thing. I bailed after the first season. I'd take CSI Miami over Lost, and that says a lot!)"
Yeah, it does and not in a good way. CSI: Miami is by far the stupidest, most ridiculous show on the air. It is so unbelievable; it should be considered science fiction. It used to be watchable; well, except for Caruso. Now, even the supporting cast can't save this wreck. The only reason it's still on the air is that people are too dumb to stop watching it. It's mindless candy and the worst kind of escapist television.

I'm sorry dumb people whatching CSIM are many more than "intellligent people" watching Lost. That's life, what can you do?
That's the only time i'm gonna respond to somebody who offens other people beacause they watch a show. One thing it's to criticize and bash a show you don't like other thing is to offent those who watch it. It never crossed my mind to offend those watching Moonlight or AI shows which i consider the worst of the worst

Hmm, let's see, your signature block with shows you like includes: Cold Case, Law & Order: SVU, L&O: mothership, L&O: Criminal Intent, The Shield, and Moonlight.
Could you possibly favor procedural shows? I don't know, I'm just taking a wild guess.
And I'm supposed to be surprised that you would take CSI:Miami over LOST?
I may be a tinge biased towards procedurals, but CSI Miami isn't a procedural. It's just pure garbage, a disgrace to the genre, created by the least talented people in America, writers and cast both. So for me, to say I'd rather watch CSIM over Lost really reflects would I think of the latter. Others on this thread got the allusion here, anyway.
Slightly OT, seems the futon critic really digs Harper's Island (and that's in addition to the raving review of The Mentalist a few days ago), which could mean good news for us: finally a serialized show that takes place on an island, yet is watchable! Harper's Island

It reflects that you prefer an ugly copy of the original CSI rather than Lost, but I'm not here to judge other people's choices...
OUCH. Lost has lost half of its viewers (and over half of the demos) in just 3 years. That's a "major" accomplishment

I see that "horrible" CSIM in the 16th place of the 2007-2008 season, where is the "jewel" Lost
I've you've watched a minute of Lost, you know that it requires you to use your brain and think. CSI: M requires you to do absolutely nothing, but oggle at professional women who, for some unknown reason, are dressed like hookers at work. The storylines are stupid, unbelievable and transparent. Caruso's only contribution to the show is to take his sunglasses on and off and put his hands on his hips. Wow! What an actor! The production values remind me of video games. I'm sorry if comments offended you, but to me, wasting precious minutes of your life on this drivel is dumb.

Lost was good last night...lots of action....some questions/comments though.... -Is Jin and Locke really dead? -Why bring back Michael as a series regular if they were only going to kill him off? Why not just list him as a guest star? Is it solely to make it more shocking? -Walt has aged so much its ridiclous...I realize his scene was a fastforward but he barely looks like the same kid and sounds completely different -I think Lost would be better suited having a 22 episode final season next year....because I don't know how they are going to drag this out for another 32-34 episodes....Doesn't seem like there's too much story left -Why can't the action be like this every episode? This is why I love prison break and only watch Lost because it's interesting enough...also why I won't buy the Lost dvd's unless they are marked down to $5 a season or something (season 1 and 2 were like this, season 3 started to slow with the action) -Who else thinks that the Lost series finale will be like seinfeld/mash (although not as big because tv viewership on network tv is down obviously) get 30-40 million? I think it will at least set a series high in viewership
Final thoughts: I think the reason Lost's viewership is down is because it's becoming too sci fi....moving the island? a little far fetched....I'm home from college for the summer and my parents tried watching it (they loved it during season 1, stopped watching midway through season 2 because it got too complicated, now just watch sparingly) and they had too many questions and said it was too unbelivable....so that's probably why people aren't watching it anymore because people like realistic situations they can relate to and they only can take so much unrealism
The review says the thing is completely reshot and rewritten, so it's anyones guess about the final result. It really doesn't matter though as Harper's Island is more mismatched with the CBS audience than Swingtown.

I was going to prepare a response to your post but then I decided to follow your advice instead.

Not a problem, i also think waisting time in writing stupid things on a forum is dumb.
