I guess the ITUNES sales must be really good because CW is obviously pleased with GG at the moment.
I think the CW must also have been impressed with the fact that Gossip Girl is the youngest scewing show on network TV (average viewer is 22 years old).

Because it got a pick-up? That doesn't mean they're all that pleased--you have to realize that their options are very limited, and they just don't have anything to replace GoGi with.
If they have to pick up a show, they'd be better off doing it sooner, rather than later. It provides the show a bit of free publicity, and makes it seem like they know what they're doing. Even though it's CW, and they obviously don't.
and it provides stability to the fans and more importantly potential fans of the show... COUNTLESS people have multiple episode of all these new shows on their DVRs waiting to see if the show gets canned or not...
I'd expect GG to inch up a little each week... Last nights ep was easily the best of the bunch. It took Josh Schwartz and co 3 episodes to realize no one wants to watch a bunch of kids who hat each other...

CW was impressed by the fact that it has to have programs to show later in the season, and ALL of their current programs are flops, so they have to pick a few and run with them. That's what CW was impresssed by.

I've lost interest in the show, but If a kid is a bigot, hes getting it from home and/or friends.
Most kids may choose a mini golf course, but I know kids that are very devoted to their faith. and if they don't have the interest in golf.... As the old saying goes, "It takes all kinds"
Well I watched both episodes so far of Pushing Daises and I think we're going to see another drop next week. I liked it week one, but I liked it in a way I'd like a Tim Burton film, it's totally over the top, and after watching another episode, I just was tired of it. It's kind of like eating food that's too rich, it's good but too much makes you sick of it. I think if this was a film, it would have been good, but I don't see how people will keep coming back every week.

It is more like something normally seen on the USA Network, but with a bigger budget. I also don't get the fuss over it, but it is a decent show, but nothing AMAZING!!! But nothing AWFUL either that doesn't deserve to be watched at least once.

It was horribly pretentious. Now I know why critics embraced it...they love to praise anything not main stream. They'll love a foreign subtitled flick about Bosnian genocide over a big budget alien invation movie. Same goes for PD...since its "outside the box"
I couldn't imagine watching a whole episode of PD...

Should be interesting...
Which makes Boston Legal's numbers look all the better. It's actually slightly UP vs. last year! This is quite an anomaly this season! Good news, good news!

They hat each other? Is that some new youth thing? They stick Homburgs and Fedoras on each other's heads? Oh wait, I get it--'hat' is a euphemism for prophylactic? Well, kudos to today's youth for practicing safe sex. Of course, in the case of GoGi, it's also DULL sex.
Originally posted by Carrie: Top Model got the highest ratings of the season so far because it was the makeover show, which in my opinion is the best episode.
My favorite episode is usually the one where they first go on 'the big trip'. Whatever country they go to usually gets better coverage from Top Model than similar visits by the Amazing Race.
As for last night's makeover episode, I think this season had some of the bigger transformations ever. Some of the models looked totally different. So, people tuning in really 'got their money's worth' and will likely be back again next week.
There's nothing impressive about Gossip Girl's numbers. Marc is right on this one, it was way too early for a season pickup on a show that is wasting it's lead in. Any show that does about 50% of the ratings is struggling to find an audience. It's second half drop is alarming also. Every single week it drops significantly in the second half.
I'm still waiting for the CW to put Reaper after ANTM. GG isn't using that advantage, so give Reaper a chance. It can't get much worse.
B2Y is definately performing underneath all expectations. This show is struggling. When TD does better in the ratings, you know the show is in trouble.

When are these dvr numbers getting released?
Here's an interesting article that explains a little about the new live plus 7-day and C-3 ratings systems:
