That won't matter once Live+3 data is widely available. Since a lot ABC shows get DVRed massively (which does not apply to CBS shows at all) ABC will probably win over CBS in total viewers and in the demo by a fairly wide margin.

Seldom watch CM, but I wouldn't
be surprised if it held up. I thought
if any of the CBS crime shows could
survive the loss of # 1, this was it.
The entertainment value of this show
appears to be wrapped up in the type
of crimes, the dark and intense tone,
and this inside baseball profiler
approach the show has. In a few
year 2 eps I watched, I did not feel
MP was dominant.

Noticed that after last week's show. Discussed it with friends and they noticed the same. To be honest, I like it better because of that.

You do know that the last set of DVR numbers that came out had Survivor at #1, right?

Is this a fancy way to state that Private Practice has less plot development? Wink

CSI also wouldn't be in huge trouble if Petersen would leave. Not the same goes for CSI Miami, CSI NY or Shark

I'm still wait and see on DVR #s on this one... Same goes for Thurs at 9:00 shows... too much on.. You will only watch so much those nights and watch the rest later.... GG had ZERO competition the first week and then 40M people jumped in on Criminal Minds,PP and BW....

Still dont think the premiere #s are great but still think with DVR #s and people losing interest in BW and PP GG will get back to those premiere #s....

Sorry, but that still doesn't look that impressive. Especially when you factor in the fact that ANTM has been treading strong in the same demos GG is looking for. At best, you can say it stabilized in the upper 2 million range and low to mid 1 demo. Not exactly a break out.

Week Total 18-49
1 3.50 1.6/4
2 2.48 1.1/3
3 2.75 1.2/3
4 2.87 1.3/3

But still three consecutive weeks of growth in total viewers and among adults 18-49...better than nothing.

The premiere of SURVIVOR: CHINA was the most recorded programIN THE WEEK PRIOR TO THE START OF THE 2007-2008 SEASON

GA was much less serialized in the first 2 seasons than it is now. So i wouldn't rush on judgment to quickly.

I dont think CSI would be the #1 show in WP left... no chance.... Shark and CSI Miami could not lose the leads either.... CSI NY though... it would probably benefit from a big cast move...

My reply from the other thread:
This looks like a very deceptive comment on their part. I would bet that most of the 'timeshifting' is being done by people watching the program an hour or 2 later (they might even be counting people that start a program 20 minutes late in order to avoid the commercials as they watch it 'live'). So, most of this 'timeshifting' is still being counted by the overnight ratings.

So? How does that negate the fact that Survivor (a CBS show) was #1? The fact that Survivor was #1 DOES negate the claim that CBS shows don't get DVRed.

I think that was for the week prior to the beginning of the new season.

I agree Smiler

I let an hour show roll for 15 minutes so I can start and miss commercials... they would count me as a timeshifter.... so the article is misleading.... they should have #s for timeshifting the next day or beyond... not same day
