It will have the benefit of a 5th Grader lead in, which appeared to be a good fit, and it will be the only reality show in that hour. Not to mention, Ramsey is really the reason why the programs are successful, not necessarily the format.

Will/does FOX have what it will take to stay Competitive in the Fall?

If so, I predict that they will unseat CBS from the total viewers thrown, taking both Viewers and Demo crowns.

I don't think they can take the viewership crown. If any network can do that, I think its ABC, but if Fox has a stronger fall (say 3.5 demo instead of low 3 like in the past) then it will more than likely coast to another season victory in the demo.

FOX's January - May is, obviously, strong. They bounced back & Forth with CBS for tops in weekly viewership. What hurt them was mostly placing 4th during the fall.

If they can stay with in a million, or so, of the rest, I think they have a REALLY good show at the viewer title.

Plus, They have The Super Bowl this season.

I agree that they should do better this fall than last year. Atleast they won't be totally giving up in the Fall.

FOX will claim a victory while TV pundits and competition will put an asterick by it and claim that the Superbowl has to be factored out of the season ratings since it has so much influence.

Meanwhile, I'll keep putting my own asterick by FOX until they program the 10pm hour like 'the big three'.

I am actually suprised that one of the 'Big Three' have not given back the 10pm hour to the local affiliates. As diluted as the TV landscape is, the cut in cost could help a bottom line.

How much stronger would NBC be if they gave the 10pm Hour back to the locals for a 1 hour Newscast, then started the Tonight show at 11pm?

Plus they could cut out some of the dead weight in programming to strengthen their average.

I think it would be better for CBS to maybe drop How I Met Your Mother for the rest of the summer.

We already saw that Christine did better than How I Met Your Mother in the 8:00pm hour, and does fine in the 8:30 slot. And I'm almost certain it would do better after Two and a Half Men than what How I met Your Mother does. Or maybe run 1 Christine and 2 Mens?

But then again, Rules of Engagement starts next week, so I think it would best work like this:

8:00pm The New Adventures of Old Christine
8:30pm The New Adventures of Old Christine
9:00pm Two and a Half Men
9:30pm Rules of Engagement.

Old Christines little viewer gains is, more than likely, do to the Higher HUT level at 8:30pm.

IMO, Old Christine should be doing BETTER numbers than what they have been, considering the later time from HIMYM.

HIMYM is not a Strong Ratings getter, but Old Christine is the weaker of the two shows, IMO.

Earlier this year, HIMYM was doing stronger than Christine at 8pm. At that time I would've said that HIMYM was stronger, but now its at least a draw. Christine has reversed the numbers and now appears to be the stronger show. I think HIMYM is on its last legs. It needs to perform this year or its going to be quitting time. The only way it could continue the way it is and survive is if CBS expands its comedies to another night.

You are talking about small differences, but you might consider this: more people saw HIMYM in firstrun, so slightly less people will 'need' to catch it in rerun. Less people saw TNAoOC in first run so slightly more people will 'need' to catch it in rerun.

never gonna happen Wink the affiliates get way too much money with news programming at 10pm and syndicated material in the 11pm hour

I still expect CBS to take the viewership crown, but I think FOX will be a close 2nd. ABC a competitive 3rd in viewers and NBC a not-so competitive 4th. I think FOX will cruise in the demo.

Nice debut with 100% retention A 18-49. As for the show itself, I really enjoyed it.
