---------------

-Ratings Breakdown:
CBS and NBC shared leadership on this first Friday in March, with CBS the most-watched and the two networks tied among adults 18-49. ABC finished third, followed by the CW’s underrated Friday Night Smackdown! and the annual NAACP Image Awards on Fox.

NBC opened the evening on a winning note, care of 9.92 million viewers and a 2.8 rating/10 share among adults 18-49 for game show 1 vs. 100. Am I the only one who thinks 1 vs. 100 is more entertaining than Deal or No Deal? Second in the 8 p.m. hour was a repeat of CBS’ Ghost Whisperer at 9.00 million viewers and a 2.7/ 9 among adults 18-49. A repeat of Grey’s Anatomy on ABC was fourth with 4.44 million viewers and a 1.4/ 5 in the demo. Over at the CW, old faithful Friday Night Smackdown! scored a healthy 4.76 million viewers with a 1.6/ 5 among adults 18-49 from 8-10 p.m. Comparably, that beat the annual NAACP Awards on Fox (Viewers: #5, 3.93 million; A18-49: #5, 1.3/ 4 from 8-10 p.m.) by 830,000 viewers and 23 percent among adults 18-49.

At 9 p.m., CBS’ on-the-fence Close to Home and NBC’s already renewed Las Vegas tied for first among adults 18-49 (2.5/ 8 each), with Close to Home outdelivering Las Vegas by 1.61 million viewers (9.81 vs. 8.17 million). Had CBS not been in such good shape, renewing Close to Home would be a given. A repeat of ABC’s Wife Swap averaged 4.61 million viewers (#4) and a 1.9/ 6 among adults 18-49 (#3).

At 10 p.m., ABC’s 20/20 and a repeat of CBS’ Numb3rs tied for first as follows:

20/20 (ABC)
Viewers: 7.63 million (#2), A18-49: 2.5/ 8 (#1)

Numb3rs R (CBS)
Viewers: 8.54 million (#1), A18-49: 2.2/ 7 (#2)

A repeat of NBC’s Law & Order was third at 10 p.m. with 7.32 million viewers and a 2.1/ 6 among adults 18-49.

Do you really think Close to Home will be canceled? I wonder if another network would give it a shot considering its not doing badly.

Hasn't the NAACP Image Awards always gotten low ratings?

I wonder what its high in viewership is.

Marc, do you think Ghost Whisperer is going to get renewed for a third season?

C2H was also a repeat last night. But its numbers are actually impressive. It matched the 2.5 in the demo from last week (which was an original) and the show was just 300.000 viewers down compared to an original episode! 97% retention (out of its last original installment) for a repeat - just amazing.

Well, an exec at CBS told me there is no guarantee. But since I think Close to Home is going, I would guess that Ghost Whisperer is coming back.

It is...and I forgot it was a repeat. I really think that this show would work well on Lifetime.

Marc, isn't C2H one of Bruckheimer's favorite shows? Would CBS really mess with him by cancelling it? The only thing speaking against the show is that it is produced by Warner. If it was CBS the network would keep it on the air for at least 4 or 5 season for syndication...because judging by the numbers CBS certainly doesn't lose money with it (even though I doubt that they make that much of a profit on it).

C2H is working perfectly for CBS. For God's sake it's winning weak after weak in its time period.
11 million viewrs mean nothing for CBS?
I swear i don't understand the american networks. They just want money, lots of money. They don't give a buck on viewer's interests.

As for 1v100 is way better than Deal or no Deal or 5th grader.

So, in the first 2 hours of Friday primetime, CW is now beating FOX *and* ABC even though CW had a drop in its ratings this week?

ABC has all repeats on Friday so it's not really original programming v original programming.

Good to see that Girlfriends picked up awards for its lead actress, Traci Ross and its 'lead' actor, Reginald Hayes. It is a real shame more people aren't checkingout Girlfriends rather than sitting through 2 1/2 Men.

That is for shure but based on intellectual effort 5th Grader is sadly the 2nd best game show on broadcast television right now:

1. 1 vs .100
2. 5th Grader
3. Fill in DOND, Identity, etc.

I have never watched DOND or Identity but judging by its German counterparts...oh my god.
