I've been watching "Duel." It's a fairly good game show--you have to have some brains to play it. A lot more, say, than selecting briefcases.
No one ever said you needed brains to play Deal or No Deal. Although sometimes it does take brains to know when to take a deal. (Which many contestants do not know when to do.)
The same could be said of HIMYM and the fact that its dragging down the entire Monday night at CBS. Fact of the matter is that BL has no lead in anymore and it continues to do just fine.

Thoughts: CW: Wow. The Crowned repeat topped a million! I bet we see a fourth weekly airing here soon. The good news was that Reaper managed to grow on the lead in once again. Funny how Supernatural never does that. NBC: Clash is doing better than I suspected. I still think its a horrible premise and an outright horrible show. Kudos to Biggest Loser for a solid finale. It should be able to pull around 6 to 7 million against the Death Star in January. CBS: As expected. Cane's still a loser but not as big a loser. ABC: Duel remains decent but the last minute extension last week confuses people at 9pm me thinks. Last night and Monday night it showed growth at 8:30 only to lose folks at 9. Kind of strange. Jim at 9:30 was a bad choice too- just as well have shortened Duel and aired an hour of something else or expanded Duel. BL gets kudos for growth not losing its lead in like Cane does.

Come again? HIMYM airs at 8pm, and has demonstrated week after week that it's the only CBS sitcom other than 2 1/2 Men that can stand on its own. BBT barely outrates it.
Please. This show has underperformed since day one. In season two when it lost KoQ as a lead in it dipped by 2 million viewers. Yes, what a self starter. At least Big Bang outrates it. HIMYM typically lost lead in ala the Class. Give BBT a year or two. It will be the superior sitcom. Now all we need is for CBS to actually put it after 2.5 Men for a while so it can build its own fanbase from a lead in instead of having to grow out of the weak lead in every week.

The sad part is that you actually believe what you typed above.
The sad part is that people actually think that's a good show. My how the sitcom has fallen. This is an underperformer. Its already in the Monday cancel slot for next spring when it has enough eps for syndication.
SHOW HH A18-49 Viewers
DUEL (90 minutes) 4.4/7 2.3/7 7,199,000

I almost hope for MTV’s sake that Tila and Bobby don’t work out... (I was actually surprised she wasn't pressured into picking Dani by, like, social revolution or something other than her "heart").

Mushu, you honestly think the CW would air Crowned four times a week? I think three times is oversaturation. You know there are other shows that do better in repeats the CW could put on the air while this stupid strike is going on.
No I was just joking but you never know with Ostroff. I'm surprised Top Model repeats aren't permanent though on Sundays.

Oh..ok. I got you. And you are right with Ostroff. I am thinking the CW screwed themselves by not picking up more shows for midseason.
Peace!!

*draws ire*
... in retrospect, a 13 episode pick up of Veronica Mars, FBI doesn't look so bad right now

So true Travis. Although I never liked the show, that could of been something to watch instead of reality and repeats.
Interesting...I read that is was the higher ups on the WB side did not fight to renew VM for a fourth season mainly on the basis that its overseas market sales were lousy. It fought to have SN renewed. Why? Because its overseas markets sales are really, really, really good. It is all about profit in the end. I would not be surprised to see SN go five seasons and get a second syndication run.
