I like Modern Family a lot. From advance reviews, I wasn't even sure I would watch Cougar Town. I did and I laughed out loud several times - and that's a rarity for me. CT may be low-brow, blatant humor, but I sure laughed. I hope it gets a real chance to survive. The kid who plays Cox's son is deadpan humor at it's finest. Busy Phillips is great stuff too. Clever writing and a good cast - I'll keep watching.
I also love Glee, so this hour is a real juggling act for me. I don't have a DVR, so it's the old VCR tapes for me.

Wow at L&O:SVU!?!?!?!? Only a 2.5 in the demo? That is very disheartening. Mercy did pretty well. It grew and was stable through the hour so NBC might have something here. I watched Mercy, IMO, it wasn't half bad. Better than Hawthorne starting out.
Really great numbers for Modern Family and CougarTown. I can't believe that CougarTown grew in the demo from Modern Family. Go Cox! I watched both, they were hilarious. I loved CougarTown! Eastwick had some weak retention but a 3 in the demo isn't that shabby. I enjoyed it more than I thought it would. Maybe I should consider moving my SVU appointment to Saturdays for MF/CT.
SYTYCD is disappointing but skews so young. Glee held up very well with a 3 in the demo.
CBS's line up was pretty stable. I'm still surprised that CBS didn't try to shake up their comedy block.
CW. ANTM is sliding quickly. TBL is DOA even more so than before if that's possible.
As I mentioned a few weeks back, look for V promos tonight during FLASHFORWARD. You'll see three of them, two 15 seconds and one 45 seconds. And ABC will give you a 3 minute promo for FLASHFORWARD for next week (and perhaps future episodes) at the end of the show! Make sure you watch FF tonight and not Friday, because none of these V and FF long promos will be on the Friday encore.
Very good numbers for ABC comedies - I think they for sure have something there. The hour seemed to level out at just over 11 million viewers and over a 4.0 demo. And, since the demo jumped up so much at 9pm, you have to think that these shows had their own audiences last night. My guess is that the audience will stick around, and both should be able to remain above 10 million next week.
I'm surprised Glee held up so well - I thought for sure we'd see it under 6 million, but it managed to grow from last week and held steady with a 3.0 demo. I can understand why FOX ordered a full season of it. Dance, on the other hand, is just disappointing. Good demo, but just 5.5 million is not something worth keeping. I keep saying this, but FOX can still get out - House repeats would do the same, if not better.
Considering they were both up from last season, good ratings for the CBS comedies. They're still low in the demo, but against Dancing and the premiere of Mercy, they did decent. I was right on with OC outrating GU, which tells me that GU will probably be 13 and done this season, since they could easily put AOP or ROE in the slot.
Nice premiere for Mercy. Another low demo performer, but the audience stuck around the entire hour. SVU - Wow. NBC has to be beyond disappointed with those numbers, especially the demo. NBC needs to consider switch it and Heroes immediately. SVU could actually find life on Mondays, while Heroes can be left to do nothing but die on Wednesdays.

I agree that NBC needs to do some serious damage control with their shows. I think SVU may increase later on in the season though. The competition will not always be this great and SVU does have a big proven audience. I'm glad that Glee held up so well. I agree that the ABC comedies should be able to hold their audiences.
The CBS sitcoms looked a lot better before they lost 500,000 in the finals. They did about the same as last year. Unless they reduce the order Gary has the full season order. He already has 15 taping dates scheduled. What happens to ROE, I have no idea.

I bet the CBS comedies will see a drop next week, as the ABC should be able to premiere close to the 10 million level. Considering Back to You had like 9.5 million watch its premiere, both Hank and The Middle (Kelsey Grammar and Patricia Heaton) should be able to do about the same, if not better.
I still have to watch Glee - I've heard great things about last night's episode.

If I was able to experience a flash of elation over the ABC Comedy Wednesday Nielsens, the numbers for 'The Beautiful Life: TBL' are just devastating to fans of the series.
I cannot fathom why this series is not connecting through to the 'America's Next Top Model' viewership. It is a cleverly written, resplendently performed and brilliantly filmed hour that looks behind the scenes of the modeling world in a verite way that FOX's 'Models, Inc' tried to but never really achieved.
I agree with others in this posting string who are advocating a move of 'The Beautiful Life: TBL' to Friday nights where it can find its audience. As travisyanan pointed out last week, the Friday encore drew more of The CW's currency demo W18-34s than the Wednesday original episode did.
Miss Ostroff must do something soon to save 'The Beautiful Life: TBL' by getting it away from 'Glee' and the ABC comedies.
Miss Mischa Barton can only be wondering what's happened to all her fans of 'The O.C.' who, so far, haven't found her new series 'The Beautiful Life: TBL'.

I believe Old Christine had around 6.5 million for last season's premiere, and Gary had about 6.8. So, Old Christine would be up quite a bit, while GU would be about on par. But you're right - the numbers looked much better before finals. These numbers always seem to drop in finals, though.
Bottomline - Old Christine is worth the full season, but Gary Unmarried necessarily isn't, since both ROE or AOP would probably do better in the slot. When you fall from your lead-in, that's not usually a good thing (although it did increase in the demo, so I'll give it that)
