I thought that MP got an order for 6 more *scripts*, not episodes. There is a BIG difference between the two--ordering the scripts lets CW see what direction they will be taking things after Heather Locklear is established there and see if the ratings improves. If the ratings do not improve, I'm sure that those extra 6 scripts will be shelved
Oh I'm sorry! I honestly didn't know the difference :/ However, I'm still shocked that they ordered anything for MP! lol

I have a feeling Dateline will stay in the Friday 9 p.m. hour.

Monday at 9 would be tougher. (Interesting note: The show first premiered in the Monday 9 p.m. slot.)
Last at 10 p.m. was NBC’s The Jay Leno Show with 6.43 million viewers and a 2.0/ 5 among adults 18-49. Comparably, this was only about equal to year-ago failed occupant Lipstick Jungle (Viewers; 6.25 million; A18-49: 2.4/ 6 on Sept. 24, 2008). It’s official: NBC has a big problem on its hands!
I agree the Leno show belongs on the loser's list, regardless of how much money it makes--but NBC had a much bigger problem with Lipstick Jungle, no?
In terms of competition, things are as bad as they're going to get. The first week gawkers are gone. And it's still getting ratings that would allow a big budget drama to scrape by for months before it got axed. Hell, Dollhouse got renewed with ratings that make these look great--and even with Whedon agreeing to cut costs, one Dollhouse ep would probably pay for a month of Leno.
I think there has to be some middle ground between 'genius programming gambit' and 'disaster'. It's a stopgap, and not an entirely ineffective one. NBC's real problem is development, and this show at least stops the bleeding until they can retool.
Hey, about OTH, there was something about the departure of Chad Micheal Murray and the other chick, it may geared some instability. Cause GG, 90210 and SN got full season pickups =)
Also, MP only got script orders. If the show continues to bomb, there's no way it'll be cancelled after the 13th, wich is sad cause I'm actually liking the show.
Oh, I see. Well glad the cw thinks that OTH is doing well with the departures of CMM & HB.
Oh and yeah I got the "scripts" mis-understood with episodes lol. I didn't get the difference but I get it now.
But you say if it CONTINUES to bomb then there's no way it will be cancelled?

It has been said that during major economic crises, Comedy becomes a good medicine to minimize the daily stress. In this "Great Recession", i call it Modern Day Depression, viewers would like to indulge in some light comedy. So, ABC should do well with this line-up.
I will be interested to see how Flash Forward does which seems like the most anticipated show this fall.
Remember, consumer's are cutting their discretionary incomes, and saving more. This bodes well for Network TV as more people are staying home because they don't have the money to spend and go out. I really think we could see a major bump for network television this year due to the economic crises, and with the real unemployment being around 16-17%. To suffice, more people are staying home and watching television because it is the cheapest way to get value for your entertainment dollars, and many without jobs..

I think that TVD will drop to 2.8 - 3 mil., 1.3/3, SPN to 2.3-2.5 mil., 1.0/2 (even though I'm saying it with pain in the heart ).
Eastwick's ratings are meh. Really don't like it at all. Both the comedies were funny, although the latter was a bit too risque for my taste. And neither was as epic as they were promoted to be. Hopefully Hank/The Middle do better cause those are the two I really am excited for.
I work on Cougar Town and as funny as the pilot was, it was just to setup the characters. The show is getting so much funnier as we're progressing with shooting. Enjoy the show.
Dawn Ostroff should be very worried about her job with only one hit in The Vampire Diaries.
No, Dawn Ostroff should be worried about her network's existence with only one hit in the Vampire Diaries. I'm sure its numbers will continue to drop this week. If they haven't canned her by now, they won't. I'm very surprised that the network still exists considering that it's swimming in red ink. It can't survive for too much longer with numbers like this.
Why is it that no one ever really criticizes My Network TV? It does even worse than The CW, but CW seems to get all the good flack. LOL.
Just an observation.

Is CT supposed to be a comedy? Didn't laugh once. I swear. Watched MF for the second time and as funny as it was for a pilot i still have doubts this can be a multi-season hit show

*If the show continues to bomb, there's no way it'll be still on air after the 13th.
