1) to test it out. 2) those 3 are the "strongest" NBC has. 3 of the other 6 (30 Rock, Scrubs, FNL) may not make it past December. SVU and ER could still get a couple added on down the road. I don't expect any/all networks to go all out, right out of the box, nor should they. And not all series NEED 30 episodes, but just 22 will soon be the exception, not the norm. quote: Originally posted by pisher: quote: If they are stockpiling, then why only 3 series? Why not more, or all returning shows?
If they are trending to longer seasons, why not ditto?

Can you please not post spoilers/spolier intems for unaired episodes? I've been very unspoiled for this last batch of episodes.

Agreed--it will reach the point where 22 is longer than average. If we include cable shows, we're almost there already. They added eps for three shows that are performing well--well, if they're stockpiling, wouldn't those be the shows they'd add on eps for? This isn't a trend, kiddo. And they will NEVER AGAIN have 30 ep seasons for most network scripted shows. Either you'll be proven right or not. You yourself say it isn't happening anytime soon. I say it's not happening at all. Time will tell. Can we let it drop for now?

What about Satellite? I hear Passions is going to be on DirectTV only. I wonder how many episodes will be produced.

Well, one of Veronica's most sickening sycophants is saying it's ALMOST a sure thing VM is a goner-- http://community.tvguide.com/blog-entry/TVGuide-Editors...onica-Mars/800015122I'd put more faith in a leaked schedule than a dodgy rumor. However, I wouldn't put it past Ostroff to be hoping that VM will rebound in the ratings over the next few weeks, and she can stick it in for mid-season. I also wouldn't put it past her to want to avoid the issue of her most humiliating failure altogether at upfronts, by putting off the decision--or pretending it's still her decision to make.

It's like she's throwing a temper tantrum. "No, you can't make me cancel my show!"
For crap's sake, Dawn. You're the head of a network. Be a big girl and just make the damn decision.

It's already made, and probably not by her. She's just putting off announcing the decision, either to avoid embarassment, or in the hopes of somehow reversing it. CW doesn't have a chance in hell of getting anywhere as long as she's in charge of it. But at this point in time, how many competent qualified people would even WANT the job?

You know...I think that anyone else would be better than her. I would love to be given a try, but alas I do not have any experience in showbiz...so I think that kind of leaves me out of the list of possible contenders! Dang it! Peace!!

none. at least in my office, the CW is a complete joke. no one wants to touch it with a (insert inappropriate length joke here) pole.

I volunteer me. I can cancel all of those silly CW shows and replace them with Musical Comedies, Musical Dramas and of course Saints & Sinners . quote: Originally posted by TravisYanan: quote: how many competent qualified people would even WANT the job?

GOOD! Put this horribly rated show out of its misery already. It's not a hit and it never will be. And thank you for calling Michael Ausiello a sycophant. I CANNOT STAND than "man". He acts like such a little twit both in words and on camera - someone at TV Guide better put an end to that Ausiello Vodcast. I watched it for the first on Sunday (about the GG cancellation) and I actually felt horribly embarassed FOR HIM. I am just wondering, why do you say that the CW is a complete joke? Is it the way it is being run or is there something else to make you say that? Thanks. Peace!!
