-Ratings Breakdown:
CBS won this lackluster third Friday of the May 2007 sweeps, with a first-place finish in total viewers and adults 18-49. NBC was second, followed by ABC and The CW tying for the No. three and four spots, respectively. Last was a repeat of theatrical Daddy Day Care on Fox.
The season-finale of CBS’ Ghost Whisperer kicked-off the evening with 9.09 million viewers and a 2.6 rating/11 share among adults 18-49 at 8 p.m. Second was the first half of a two-hour edition of NBC’s overused Dateline at 6.45 million viewers and a 1.5/ 6 among adults 18-49. Overall, Dateline averaged 6.84 million viewers and a 1.6/ 6 in the demo from 8-10 p.m. Also in the 8 p.m. hour was a repeat of ABC’s Grey’s Anatomy (Viewers: #3, 4.42 million; A18-49: #4, 1.3/ 5), while The CW and Fox performed as follows from 8-10 p.m.
Friday 8-10 p.m.
Friday Night Smackdown! (CW)
Viewers: 4.46 million (#4), A18-49: 1.6/ 6 (#3)
Movie: “Daddy Day Care” (Fox)
Viewers: 3.64 million (#5), A18-49: 1.3/ 5 (#5)
At 9 p.m., the probable final episode of CBS’ two-year-old Close to Home dominated with 10.45 million viewers and a 2.6/ 9 among adults 18-49. Shouldn’t something this relatively viable be able to find a home elsewhere? A 9 p.m. edition of ABC’s 20/20 (opposite Close to Home and the second half of Dateline, Friday Night Smackdown! and Daddy Day Care) scored a mere 4.23 million viewers (#4) and a last-place 1.1/ 4 in the demo.
CBS remained in the 10 p.m. winner’s circle, with Numb3rs at 9.90 million viewers and a 2.5/ 8 among adults 18-49. Second was NBC’s veteran Law & Order (Viewers: 8.22 million; A18-49: 2.3/ 7), followed by the regularly scheduled edition of ABC’s 20/20 at 6.05 million viewers and a 1.7/ 6 in the demo.
