That would require DirectTV to foot the whole production bill instead of just part of the bill.

Will FNL not just continue on DirecTV if NBC doesn't want it for next season?

I don't think DirecTV kicks in enough to cover the full cost of production. Either NBC or another broadcast or cable network paying a share of the production costs is needed for a fourth season.

The key question is whether a 1.4 average in A18-49s gathers up enough ad dollars to make the hour profitable for NBC when measured against their substantially reduced license fee by virtue of the DirecTV co-production.

Same old same Fridays!

I've decided to do a special edition where I'll post the TOP 8 young female stars during the months of February. Most of these actresses will be heard from for a long time.

BlueLick's rising female stars of the month

Shailene Woodley (SLOTAT, ABC FAM, MON), Missy Peregrym (Reaper, CBS/CW, TUE), AnnaLynne McCord (90210, CBS/CW, TUE)
Demi Lovato (Sonny, ABC/DIS, SUN), Lucy Hale (Privileged, CBS/CW, TUE)
Amanda Righetti (TM, CBS, TUE), Eliza Dushku (Dollhouse, FOX, FRI), Olivia Wilde (House, FOX, MON)

Well this is starting to become a really bad movie over and over again. Its starting become tough to look at the ratings on Fridays. Some of you already said it last year that Fridays are becoming the next Saturdays.

This cheap reality programming is not the answer unless its 5th Grader and Lyrics!

Let's start off with America's Most Watched Network CBS which continues its domination since 1998. Even on Fridays with repeats it still performs exceedingly better than the second place network of the night when they have originals. GW has all this replay value all over it and is the only real successful fantasy drama on TV right now outside of Lost. FP and NUMB3RS just fit out of each other like a glove. I do have some problems with my hometown drama Flashpoint which is guaranteed a third season at this point and has become the Tiffany Network's answer at 9pm on Fridays. Flashpoint came back a little too damn early, it seems to be running reruns more than originals since it came back. I think CBS shouldn't brought it back until March where it can run originals every single week. I also want FP to move to 10pm b/c it'll do better as a 10pm show than a 9pm show.

Flashpoint is cheap programming and CBS just picked up another cheap procedural this week which they could hook up in a two hour block in the future on Saturdays making it financially valid for CBS. Good solid cheap original scripted programming from Canada is the way to go for the networks on these types of nights.

Next up is America's Second Most Watched Network FOX since 2006 except on Friday Nights. Well let me begin with T:SCC this is my guilty pleasure and I DVR it everytime but the show is about to be done pretty soon. The good news for T:SCC is its up from last week but still way too down in that demo unless FOX trims the budget.

Dollhouse's second episode was way better and maybe one of the 10 best episodes for any series all year long. FOX probably should've used this as their pilot as it was intense and Echo's character really started to get developed. What type of a name is Echo anyways? I'm pretty sure the fans out there talk about Dollhouse so word of mouth will get around on how good this episode was and people will give this a second chance or even a first chance b/c obviously based on its ratings this show isn't heavily watched. I think FOX would be better off letting Bones lead-in for Dollhouse to spike the numbers up but I'm not too sure how long FOX will be patient and bring back 5th Grader and Lyrics!

ABC just plain sucks on Fridays as they don't even try to program this night. I think networks should always take the risk of programming scripted series instead of airing rehashed old TLC like junk on Fridays just to save their financial asses. I really hope TGIF comes back in the future b/c it shouldn't had came back in 2003 and waited. With Disney Channels numbers I would like to see Disney program this night. Please don't make excuses for Wife Swap and Supernanny b/c I don't want to hear it anymore.

NBC one message. Bring Knight Rider to Fridays and program a new game show!

The CW still exists?

The CW one message. Shut down your damn network down and give it back to The WB or let TNT go to over the air. I would like to see TNT and TBS hook up and program a fifth place network. The numbers they get for The Closer, Leverage and Tyler Perry's comedies would be a lot more than what The CW is getting now.

NBC Universal should totally promote Bonnie Hammer to run NBC b/c she's done a great job making USA the number one network on cable and making Sci-Fi Channel more profitable and mainstream.

Again The CW still exists?

If its not too much trouble could you add Supernanny and 20/20 under the Current Shows? Thanks! Smiler

I thinks putting Dollhouse after Bones on Thursday nights would be a great idea. I think Dollhouse would pull in the kind numbers it was expected to in that timeslot.

I'm perfectly okay with Fridays becoming as dead as Saturdays. The quality of even that CBS lineup is considerably weaker than that of Sunday through Thursday.

Sadly, Hulu and iTunes do not produce enough $$$ to save a series from from cancelation.

I am too. If all the networks can work to make Sunday through Thursdays stronger than they are, then the can start rebuilding Fridays and maybe Saturdays.

Since the ads for Dollhouse are done like Fringe (Fox hoping that live viewers won't will flip channels, and those who DVRed won't fast forward) What kind of DVR numbers would Dollhouse have to bring in to keep it off the chopping block?

But that means it would have to face CSI and Grey's Anatomy.

The demo was okay, it tied with a Flashpoint rerun unfortunately. Congrats to 20/20 for cracking a 2.0, highest rated all night. *sigh* Friday's are graveyards.

You can thank FOX by putting it on a death slot those sons of bitches the never gave Dollhouse a change it could have done well after Idol but those FOX sons of bitches don't listen those bastards if i were Josh whedon i would lynch them
