-Friday’s Winners: (Keeping in mind the expectations are lower) Ghost Whisperer R (CBS), Flashpoint R (CBS), Numb3rs R (CBS)
-Friday’s Losers (excluding repeats): Howie Do It (NBC), Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles (Fox), Friday Night Lights (NBC), Dollhouse (Fox), 13 – Fear is Real (CW), Dateline (NBC)
----------
-Ratings Breakdown: It was a lackluster Friday of mixed dominance, with a night of repeats still lifting CBS to the top spot in total viewers, while tying with ABC for first among adults 18-49. Needless to say, there is nothing to boast about when the No. 1 network in the demo averages a mere 1.7 rating. NBC and Fox tied for the No. 3 and 4 positions (NBC was third in total viewers, Fox third among adults 18-49), while soggy the CW finished a distant fifth. Isn’t that always the case with the CW?
Since we are all wondering how week two of Fox drama Dollhouse did, let’s begin with that. Unfortunately, it is not positive. Dollhouse finished third from 9-10 p.m. in total viewers, with 4.22 million, and tied for second (with a repeat of CBS’ Flashpoint) among adults 18-49, with a 1.7 rating/ 5 share. One week earlier, Dollhouse opened with 4.76 million viewers and a 2.0/ 6 in the demo, based on the final nationals. Comparably, that was a loss of 540,000 viewers and 15 percent among adults 18-49. The one piece of positive news was growth out of relocated lead-in Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles (Viewers: #4, 3.84 million; A18-49: #2t, 1.4/ 5 at 8 p.m.) of 380,000 viewers and 21 percent in the demo. But, let’s be honest, this is still a “losing” performance. Unless DVR usage is significant, I would not get too used to Dollhouse.
A night of repeats on CBS still managed to beat the second most-watched network, ABC, by a considerable 260,000 viewers. Take a look:
ABC, meanwhile, had nothing unusual to report with its combination of a repeat of Wife Swap (Viewers: #3, 4.09 million; A18-49: #2t, 1.4/ 4), Supernanny (Viewers: #2, 5.25 million; A18-49: #1, 1.8/ 6), which deserves some accolades for building out of Wife Swap, and 20/20 (Viewers: #2, 7.27 million; A18-49: #1, 2.0/ 6). 20/20, believe it or not, finished first for the evening among adults 18-49 with just a 2-rating in the demo. That’s plain sad, isn’t it?
Over at NBC was the losing line-up of two episodes of Howie Do It (original and repeat), critically acclaimed but minimally sampled Friday Night Lights, and time period filler Dateline. Take a look:
NBC/Friday 8:00 p.m. – Howie Do It Viewers: 3.97 million (#3), A18-49: 1.1/ 4 (#4)
8:30 p.m. – Howie Do It (R) Viewers: 3.82 million (#3), A18-49: 1.2/ 4 (#4)
9:00 p.m. – Friday Night Lights Viewers: 3.93 million (#4), A18-49: 1.4/ 4 (#4)
And lowly the CW capped off the evening with repeats of sitcoms Everybody Hates Chris (Viewers: #5, 1.42 million; A18-49: #5, 0.5/ 2) and The Game (Viewers: #5, 1.18 million; A18-49: #5, 0.5/ 2) from 8-9 p.m., and the series-finale of reality/competition 13 – Fear Is Real at 9 p.m. (Viewers: #5, 792,000; A18-49: #5, 0.4/ 1). 13 – Fear is Real will go down in the history books as one of the biggest non-scripted failures in the history of television. Too bad the CW never tried doing a second season of guilty pleasure Amish in the City.

It will probably drop again next week. FOX will most likely use Dont Forget The Lyrics in this timeslot again since it pulls pretty similar numbers.

Supernanny always seems to have lower results when Wife Swap is a repeat. 20/20 has been doing very well this year compared to last year. ABC needs to keep this lineup.

It has the benefit of airing eps that only aired once last year (except the first 3 or 4, which last nite was not). And the audience makeup could have been materially different last year to begin with.

Nice to see 'Friday Night Lights' rebounded back to normal numbers. It's week-over-week gain approximates the 'Dollhouse' week-over-week dip. Both shows will probably get further numbers in the C3 and LIVE+7 counts.
And at the very least, 'Terminator' held steady to last week...steadiness is good, as this show also picks up significant delayed viewing.
Dollhouse was right on par with last week. Thats a good sign.
Dude. 1.7 in the demo for a FOX drama in its second week is never a good sign. And it's not 'on par'--there just isn't that much further it can fall. It's not on CW.
Will FOX even air all the episodes of SCC and Dollhouse? I mean those numbers are dragging down the demo average for the network. A Bones repeat would do better.
