Why is it that every week everyone is talking about the falling LOST ratings, but no one ever talks about the huge drop in Survivor's ratings? Was'nt Survivor getting 18-20 million viewers less than 2 years ago?

I don't believe it was up to 20 million, but it was around 16 million two years ago. But Survivor is an aged show, it's been on for what, 10 years now? So it has an excuse.
Lost deserves the bagging, it is only a few years old, and it is in the #1 time slot, and is only pulling in 12 million viewers. Obviously something is wrong.
And for those of you that say "but Lost is #1 in DVR usage", okay, that may be true, but that only adds maybe 2 million viewers. That's only about 14 million, which is still bad.

we've been talking about survivors fading numbers for years...its in its 16th season and still dominates its timeslot...
lost is much younger and was only a 13% higher then survivor in the demos and lost to survivor by over a million in viewers...plus the last few weeks survivor was against idol...but lost didnt face any strong shows and still fell...
oh and i don't buy the "it was mostly in korean" argument with the show...ppl can read cant they??? if it was really about the mostly korean subtitles then lost would have gone down throughout the hour...does anyone have the half hour breakdown of the show?? did it go down??

According to last DVR numbers, LOST had gained an additional 3.7 million viewers, which brought it's total to 15 million. Plus, daytime savings affects all shows.

According to The Futon Critic, it went up 2.74% in viewers and 4.26% in the demo at the half hour.

Those numbers report viewers in addition Live data. When you compare the Live+7 numbers to the Live+SD numbers, it's not as pronounced a difference (still a couple million, but not almost 4). Since Nielsen reports Live+SD daily (and that's what we look at on this board), it would be nice if the Live+7 reports that people who have access to the data put out would include differences with Live+SD instead of just Live.

You don't? I know there aren't a ton of casual Lost viewers, but if you were flipping channels and landed on something in Korean with subtitles, would you stick around? Compared with landing on something in English with no subtitles? There's a reason foreign films don't do well at the box office in America.
