That's good news for Lost. This is the last week of American Idol on Thursday's, and they were able to weather the storm quite well (yes, I realize they weren't going up head-to-head, but when a network has a 25 million viewer lead-in advantage its something to take into consideration.)
I think Lost will settle in to the 5.4 - 5.6 range for the rest of its 9pm episodes, and then drop to around 5.1 - 5.3 for the 10pm episodes, with a spike for the season finale. Not bad at all.
Interesting that ABC is still beating CBS in 18-49 even with fresh Survivor episodes (and procedural repeats that are always so praised for repeating well)... despite the fact they are leading out the night with a low-rated Lost repeat.
I don't watch ELLI STONE but it must be wretched if that many people are fleeing at the half hour mark rather than see the episode through to its conclusion.
I hope ABC sticks with ES. It's a fun show and it's a shame that TV viewers have been missing out on some quality shows the past few years. So many shows have come and gone...
I agree, RJ -- Eli Stone is a fun little show, and I'm enjoying it each and every week. If it doesn't lose much steam without the LOST lead-in, I hope ABC considers renewing it. I wanna see where this is headed.

Real test for Amersterdam comes Monday.
No, I think the real test for it was last night and it failed.
AI ran over though, right? So it didn't lose 3M at the half hour. Obviously lost some viewers though... Still think Monday is the real test. If Amsterdam pulls 7.5M or up it compares to Prison Break and Sarah Connors... great numbers, no... but hardly a dud like vanished or justice from last year...
Same thing goes for Eli Stone... Would have to see the numbers at 10:03 to get an idea of how many people tuned out at 10:30. Lost ran two extra minutes...

Hater.
Honestly, did anyone here even WATCH NA last night?
Watched the first 10 minutes decided I was too tired to give it an honest effort so was going to try it this weekend. Lost is on for me tonight! Was the hunt for the chosen one the topic of the first one also?

I did keep it in mind, which is why I said the 9M finish level was a bad sign. Even if the show doesn't drop at all in finals, 9M out of a 26M lead-in won't cut it.

The first half-hour is inflated because of the LOST overrun -- it doesn't drop nearly that much. In fact, I don't know many returning viewers that have watched more than 1 episode that watch it for half hour and decide they don't want to see the end. In fact, last night I intended just to DVR it and watch tomorrow, and after I started watching I could not make myself turn it off. I kept saying, okay, after the next commercial break, but the story kept me involved. That's why, unless other marginal shows like MIT and OR, it deserves a renewal.

The Chosen One?
You don't have to be particularly fresh to give a show an honest try--as long as the show is honestly exciting. NA may be entertaining ehough for people who expect to live for centuries, but most people don't have that much time.

agree it spoiled the lead.. but Idol was off 2M from Wed and it was up against Lost...
8M this coming Monday would "cut it" though right?
