Let's not have another Big Bang Theory/ How I Met Your Mother discussion. BBT is the best night starter, HIMYM is the best demo winner. Which explains why this schedule works better than when HIMYM started the night.
Agreed, but for the record--HIMYM was the higher rated show in EITHER slot.
I agree to know debate, but I cannot let you just lie about the record. So here are the numbers from last year when HIMYM was at 8:00 and BBT at 8:30. BBT beat HIMYM every week when it was at 8:30, so you stand corrected.
As for Chuck, as always the episode was brilliant and entertaining (although I wish they didn't make Jill a Fulcrum agent because I think Jordana Brewster has been great these last 2 episodes). However, as always people dont understand what entertaining television is and dont watch...
T:SCC was at a 1.9 in the demo at 8:00? This has no hope on Fridays.
PB is doing a little uptick. Not enough to save it but there's still a little audience left.
Chuck is almost at the same viewership level as Heroes. Heroes is now firmly below 8 million and got no measurable viewership increase despite the promotion overload this week. It's never going to perk back up. It's gone.
SW has a horrible retention. Airing 2 hours of DWTS would be a better option, especially for Sweeps. WW isn't much better. When the overrun is factored in, WW could beat SW in total viewers with a lesser lead in. That's not good at all.
CW took a fall. It obviously got hurt with the DWTS semi-finals.
To answer your question, yes. TV viewers are celeb obsessed.

It is very sad for NBC when people actually think that Chuck's ratings are good as compared to Heroes. If a show gets 6.5 million on NBC is like a hit for the network. What a joke.
If you look at an episode cost standpoint, Chuck is a bigger winner than Heroes. Chuck probably costs a third of what Heroes costs and is only a million in viewership behind it.
That being said, nothing on NBC Mondays is a winner. The whole night needs to be redone.

For people like me who actually care and want to see how it ends?? I just wish they would have at least attempted a time slot change before making a decision on it. I don't get not at least trying to do something to save a show rather than just ending it. Cheers would have never made it if they did this kind of stuff with it.

I disagree. The last few episodes haven't been horrible, and last night I thought was pretty good, although would have been better if they went to black & white for the 40s alternate universe stuff. Bring NC back? You must be kidding me. Just make Dan evil again. He is 1000% better than the nanny!
I agree. Sweeps are almost over, holidays are around the corner. There really is no benefit for NBC promoting a new show before January. It would just be wasted money. MOWE burnoffs is the best decision.

They just need to relaunch heroes when it does it's next chapter. I think it will do better in december when dancing is gone and before 24 comes on. I still think it should move to wed at 9.
As far as Dancing -- Lance bass was such a game changer last night by placing first among all remaining contestants and delivering the best dances of the night. I know just hope that previous front runner Brooke Burke makes it to the finals and wins.

With Chuck is clearly cheaper, I doubt it's two thirds cheaper. And NBC could care less about there being 'only' a million fewer viewers, when the demo is around a full percentage point lower. Btw, why assume Chuck will hold steady? It hasn't so far.
Both shows should go, but the has-been will tarry longer than the never-was.
