1)HIMYM is the key player for CBS in the 8-9 timeslot. BBT is doing a good job, but HIMYM is the demo-winner--even when BBT wins in viewers, it doesn't win by much. Medialife barely mentions BBT in its writeup of last night's ratings. HIMYM is getting all the credit for holding up against DWTS. I don't know how the hell they keep this mother hunt going for years to come, but that's exactly what they're going to do. HIMYM is MVP.
Glad to see PB begining to increase its numbers. It won't save it but at least it'll end with decent numbers. I wouldn't be surprised to see it getting close to 7 million fot the fall finale
CSIM much better than in the last weeks
Glad also to see OTH falling quickly. The last few episodes were horrible and yesterday's pure trash. Bring Nanny Carrie back from the dead. This show badly needs a villain
Gossip girl and One tree hill are slowly slipping back to last spings numbers. And that is certainly not a good thing.
And How I met your mother is really showing that it can compete with the big guys out there. Together with BBT it managed a tie with DWTS, which is great for comedies.
Let's not have another Big Bang Theory/ How I Met Your Mother discussion. BBT is the best night starter, HIMYM is the best demo winner. Which explains why this schedule works better than when HIMYM started the night.

Thank you for that. We have had this debate many times, so I am staying out of it. CBS made a brilliant move swapping these time slots. As you say, BBT is good at getting viewers to start the night, and HIMYM is good at getting the younger viewers which are more numerous at 8:30, so the one who deserves the credit is CBS for recognizing this. Enough said.
Nice to see Chuck go up some from last week. When Chuck got renewed I think it was getting between 7 - 8 million viewers and a demo around 2.8 - 3.0 so it's not that far off from those numbers. I don't think it will get to those levels though because it's in a more competitive time slot from last year. It should get its full season order and is probably on the bubble to get renewed. However I think House is moving to Mondays at 8 which would be big trouble for Chuck. I would not be surprised to see a ratings dip if that happens.
Another solid night for How I Met Your Mother too which is good. I wonder how long they'll go before they have the main character meet his wife/children's mother (edit) if the show continues to be successful?

The CW is what it is, although it seems odd that the last few weeks both shows have lost viewers.
As for NBC. Heroes has finally found its groove a little. The episode last night seems to be a nice set-up for next week. Although, I have to say the biggest problem this year with Heroes is that they didn't signify the important moments and as with last year, you have to tell people what the endgame is right from the beginning. In Chapter 4 I hope Tim Kring, who I believe is writing the scripts again, should just foreshadow what will happen in the finale and then have the chapter show up how it gets there.
As for Chuck, as always the episode was brilliant and entertaining (although I wish they didn't make Jill a Fulcrum agent because I think Jordana Brewster has been great these last 2 episodes). However, as always people dont understand what entertaining television is and dont watch...
Lastly, nice to see Prison Break spike up a bit. This season has easily been the best since season 1, and yesterday's episode was one of the best of the series, yet people aren't watching.
In conclusion, it continues to puzzle me how people continue to watch Dancing with the "Stars" but not well-written and entertaining television. Do people really want to see D-listers dance that badly?

Agreed, but for the record--HIMYM was the higher rated show in EITHER slot.
