OMFG! Who is going to tell TVGUIDe'S Moonlight fans their show is going to be surely renwed. And who's gonna tell TVGUIDE's readers the latest breaking news about Lauren Grham's life. So sad

There's gotta be some sort of blackmail going on, because there's absolutely no reason why According to Jim should still be on.

quote: Originally posted by TV-aholic: I've said it before and I'll say it again, one of the networks needs to programm the summer as individual week specials. Bring Back the "Quantum Leap Week" mentality to the summer, not unlike watching a series's Seaon DVD.
With the dismal numbers a show like BL gets during the summer, would more viewers watch it if 10-15 episodes were to be show in one week, but not have the series on again until fall?
First week could be 2 hour blocks of BL each night. The Second Week could be Desperate Housewives. The 3rd Week would Be Grey's Anatomy. The 4th... A season of Lost in one week. Miss them then, you miss them for the summer. ABC could fill in the 3rd hour of each night with shows like Wipeout & High School Musical, plus 20/20.
I love this idea. I much prefer to watch a show in large chunks, rather than doled out episode by episode, with weeks and sometimes months in between. I find it much easier to get "into" a new show if I can see 3 or 4 episodes in a row. It gives me a much better feel for the characters and I tend to notice more things about the way the stories are crafted (usually positively). I don't like coming in halfway through the run of a show, and I wish the networks would run series from the pilot onwards during the dog days of summer. I know I would at least try Dirty Sexy Money if ABC would show the whole in in a week or two. I'd watch Numbers too, if CBS would start again at the beginning.

I hope EW continues the same format of Ausiello's column - it's a great source for spoilers and whatnot when he's not being all bitchy.
Just watching Criminal Minds now for the first time in forever - this show would be pretty good if they could get some decent actors. What's up for the procedurals and getting the worst possible guest stars? and the stilted dialog? See also: Law & Order: SVU.
Another idea for the networks over the summer (or even on Saturdays) would be to pick up some foreign series, namely those from Canada. There's some great series coming out of Canada now that would be worth a try on a US net. Cold Squad and Davinchi's Inquest already do okay in syndication, and Corner Gas is on WGN every night at 9pm. I'm not sure what the numbers are like there. Just For Laughs also did decently for ABC last summer. They're not likely to hit it big, but as filler that could come at a very cheap price, it would be worth a shot.

I'll grant you that it's better than CSI NY/Miami (well, anything is better than Miami, really), and the acting is somewhat better than SVU. But the dialog? Ick. And those guest stars (from last night's episode)? Double ick. And the opening and closing quotes? What kind of show do the producers think this is? Nobody is watching because they want to be intellectually stimulated - they're watching because they want to see twisted people do twisted things to stupid victims. It just reeks of completely unnecessary pretensiousness. It's like putting lipstick on a pig.

Impressive. While The Moment of Truth was... not. Short life span for that show.
Thank god! Why would people sit through this trash is beyond me.
One man's trash, is another man's treasure.

Not only does Sma Who ? NOT repeat well, it has a hard time with ORIGINAL episodes that does not have DWTS as its lead in. quote: Originally posted by lopez: quote: Originally posted by Twins12: quote: Originally posted by lopez: wow.. Samantha Who? must be the only decent show on ABC that repeats well.
That's a joke, right ?
For ABC, yes.

Come on, just beacause you don't understand those quotes it doesn't mean it's stupid they are used. In fact it's a good idea (not original, beacause other shows used this kind of intro). Maybe you could specify what episodes you watched so i can understand or not your point. The dialogue seems very good also to me. In fact in the second and third season the dialogue is many times excellent

Actually, I thought it repeated better Tuesday night than I would've guessed. You're right though in that it was very lead in dependent. Perhaps though with some more time behind Dancing, it will grow into a modest hit. Nevertheless, its done better than most stuff ABC has put behind Dancing, save fora few seasons of the Bachelor (which thankfully will get a hiatus this fall). quote: Originally posted by TV-aholic: Not only does Sma Who ?
