Is this a joke?

Not at all.

Secret Talents of the Stars: 3.1HH/5%, 4.580 million viewers, 1.5 A18-49

VS.

The Lord’s Boot Camp: 2.420 million viewers, 0.8 A18-49

CSI: NY (R), 4.050 million, 1.0 A18-49

Secret Talents of the Stars delivered more viewers and demo than these two lowly-rated hours on CBS last night. I believe there are six unaired episodes remaining...enough to last through the May Sweep on Saturday in the 8 pm hour.

The problem is that "Secret Talents of the Stars" doesn't actually have any remaining episodes produced, being that it was a live program with advancement based on live viewer votes.

To make such a plan work, celebrities would have to give up one or more of their Saturday nights, not feasible considering that some of the celebs would already have preexisting bookings.

NBC is trying to innovate with their year round schedule, they should continue their innovation with programming some struggling shows on Saturday. Something like Life or Lipstick Jungle could get new life. Maybe even Knight Rider if it does poorly in the fall.

there is no point in trying...the nets imo should give up saturdays (and to a lesser extent fridays) to their cable outlets...

Project runway
ultimate fighter
celebrity fit club
wildfire
kyle xy
monk
house hunters
designed to sell
plus repeats of procedurals & great shows of the past like "golden girls" "carol burnett" "all in the family" etc...

Yes, friday is starting to slip through their hands as well, particularly over the past year or two.

Not to be the contrarian voice about Saturday, but CBS put on what in my opinion was one of the better "failed" series in recent TV history, THE AGENCY, at 10pm in 2002-2003 and it couldn't earn a 3rd season over ratings and cost.

Lifetime movie pulls in 5.8 million viewers

quote:
Lifetime's original movie "The Memory Keeper's Daughter" conjured up 5.8 viewers on Saturday, making it the most-watched made-for on Lifetime since 1995. It also drew the largest aud of any entertainment program on the night -- broadcast or cable.

I guess if nothing else, this proves that NASCAR isn't entertainment?

Not that I'd care about bringing this show to Sat nights, but I would like to point out that Hollywood Squares taped all of their episodes on Sats and Sundays so as to not interfere with the possible TV taping schedules of the celebrities.

Most shows tape on the Week days, so Sats are actually still a possibility.

Travis When you post finals for Saturday can you note how much time was set aside for FOX's baseball coverage? Will that time count in FOX's weekly ratings?

MyNetworkTV got an unusually high rating on Saturday from "Meet My Folks", which garnered a 0.6HH/1%, 870K viewers but a 0.4 in A18-49 came within 0.3 of tieing CBS's "48 Hours: Lord's Boot Camp" special.

My local market always shows ST:TOS after SNL on Saturdays, and I am pretty sure they did so again. I have been trying to catch it because these are the re-mastered ones, with updated visuals of the Enterprise and planets. While I am usually not in favor re-mastering and updating older shows (free Hat), in this case, it definitely improved the look of the show without destroying the original feel.
