I gave Life a chance. I mentally fell asleep while watching it. I was perplexed by its return.

Chuck is good, but with so much competition, I have to DVR it and I'm guessing many others did so as well. Time will tell.

I don't get it. Why release it online and risk ratings being dropped? Is it some kind of marketing ploy?

Um--yes.

Fringe was also leaked early online too. Had it not been released online, I really think that it would have done a lot better than the 9 million it premiered at.

But maybe the subsequent episodes wouldn't have done as well. Ultimately, it's about getting enough people to sample a series, and hopefully enough of those people come back for more.

Hopefully, the same can be said about Chuck.

Big difference is that Chuck has already been as well sampled as it's ever going to be.

Two seasons isn't a bad run.

Assuming it gets that far.

Terminator had its best episode of the series last night. Hopefully they can churn out more like that and start building an audience instead of chasing everyone away with explosions and car chases.

The Big Bang Theory should bow down to Sara Gilbert. She is the best thing to happen to this show and it is instantly funnier and more intelligent with her in the cast.

How I Met Your Mother was a dud last night. While people can likely relate to the topic of hamburgers, it really wasn't funny.

Worst Week held up much better than I expected. CBS viewers never cease to amaze me with what they will sit through.

Life was another dud start. It better find a way to bring that entire audience to Friday.

Gossip Girl and One Tree Hill are holding up well under the pressure of the rest of the networks joining the season. Starting early was a great idea...now they should put in an additional 4-8 episode order for this season to maintain the momentum.

Summer Glau did great late night on T:SCC. She can really acted in my opinion. It was the best episode yet.

It's not what people want to see. And if they do want to see it, they can see it much better on Battlestar Galactica--which has gotten worse ratings every season.

Glau isn't a bad actress, but she's not all that particularly great either, and she just doesn't have a lot of appeal for most people--I know she's got enormous appeal for some, but not enough. Nothing personal, I think she's cute. But The Curse of Firefly cares not for cuteness.

I would watch it. maybe she'll take Kelly Bundy's place as the most stupid sitcom character.

This early premiere thing is total nonsense. Last year the season premiere was available online early, and also was previewed early on Comcast VOD weeks before the show debuted, and it got over 9 million viewers. If you are looking for that for help you are going to be waiting for a long time. It will bump up very slightly next week, at best. Chuck's numbers are a disaster, as are most of NBC's numbers.

FOX has already asked PB's producers to somehow wrap up the story in the 13th episodes, my "deep throat" confirms that to me

PB should get a final 22 episodes season if you ask me.

Online premieres don't really cause damage. If people didn't like what they saw they would have left after the first episode anyway. If they did they would watch the next episode anyway.

At the end of the day it probably helps the show attract a bigger audience than it would otherwise have.

Online premieres are going to continue to happen more and more because networks and studios want to counter the illegal download sites.

I like how 'Terminator levels' has become synonomous with 'horrible'. Big Grin

Well, they shouldn't have waited so long to air it. Wink

Which is all most people were watching for in the first place. This is not a show that can win viewers based on great writing and acting--even if it had some. I saw a bit of last night's ep, and you are too easily impressed. Not awful, but very far from great.

Much improved from the previous week. And significantly better ratings than BBT, particularly in the demo, so maybe your dud-ometer needs recalibrating? Big Grin

Sez the guy who sits through SCC every week.
