Medialife Magazine agrees that Worst Week is killing CBS :

quote:
CBS maintained its Monday lead for the second straight week, if barely, over ABC last night. But if the network’s new comedy sinks much lower, it may lose its advantage next week.

CBS averaged a 3.9 adults 18-49 rating and 10 share on the night, according to Nielsen overnights, compared to a 3.8/10 for ABC.

The network once again saw solid ratings for its 8 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. comedy block of “The Big Bang Theory,” “How I Met Your Mother” and “Two and a Half Men,” which all saw declines from last week but still drew decent numbers, finishing first or second in their timeslots.

At 9:30, however, new comedy “Worst Week” continued to squander its “Men” lead-in, retaining just 66 percent of the latter’s 4.7 and averaging a 3.1, down from last week’s 3.8 debut.

I agree. It was a good episode.

I've said it before, but FOX Mondays needs to be changed right after baseball. This is a low for both shows. T:SCC lost ratings in the half hour and is barely over 5 million and a 2 in demo. Even worse, PB is getting killed by the competition at the same horrible ratings/demo level but at least it grew in the half hour. If anyone had questions of whether either would continue after December, we have our answer, they won't. The back nine for PB is going to get revoked.

I'll give Worst Week one more week to level itself, but it looks like a huge disappointment (boardering on disaster). Depending on where ROE goes depends on how much the Wednesday night comedies falls.

Chuck did decent numbers and it grew in the half hour which is good. It's well ahead of FOX. Life also did decent numbers and if it can hold those, should make it on Friday.

Heroes is way down. I consider it a loser. It is barely pulling in 9 million, which is just a fragment of the strength it once had. Even its demos are getting less impressive. Considering the diminishing lead in, the fact that Life could keep a respectable number is amazing.

Rules of Engagement.

This may be radical, but they could put Old Christine or ROE on at 8:30 Mondays and move HIMYM to Wednesday at 8:00.

Those ratings for Heroes make my heart swell just a little bit. It's going to hit 8 million at some point this season. Granted, for NBC that's still a success, but what a fantastic crash and burn. Couldn't happen to a crappier show.

Is it possible that Chuck dropped that much because it was released online by NBC approximately a week before it actually premiered on TV?

Since HIMYM is working out of BBT, I don't think the network would want to mess with success.

I doubt that many people saw it online. But that did not help, of course.

You're out of your mind on Chuck. It lost almost 3 million viewers from its season premiere last year. Marc put it as a loser for a reason. NBC has to be devastated that one of its more promising shows had such a terrible debut.

I agree. The BBT/HIMYM hour is the best sitcom hour on TV for young people all week. It is obviously working very well. That 8:00 hour is up over a million viewers over last year this time. I guess that is why I said it would be radical. I don't think they will want to break these two up.

I don't get it. Why release it online and risk ratings being dropped? Is it some kind of marketing ploy?

Fringe was also leaked early online too. Had it not been released online, I really think that it would have done a lot better than the 9 million it premiered at. Hopefully, the same can be said about Chuck. Frowner

You're kidding, right? Since when is Chuck's ratings "decent"? Oh right, this is NBC.

As far as Life goes, with the audience MUCH lower on Fridays it will likely be DOA.

NBC is in for a very long fall. I expect MOWE to be DOA.

FOX was just dead in general while Worst Week will be a goner soon.

I don't think Chuck was a disaster. Yes, it did below the levels of last year's premiere (probably because of the long hiatus) but it wasn't the disasters Knight Rider, Lipstick Jungle, and Heroes is. It grew in the half hour and with FOX being DOA on Monday, has a great chance of building on those numbers.

Why doesn't ABC move the final 11 (we have 11 left now) episodes of Boston Legal to Friday? I mean, they have no reason to worry about the show losing viewers, because it is coming to an end. They will NOT pull it, because the least they can do is air all the episodes ordered in this final season. But, why would they air it after something as sensational (ratings-wise) as Dancing, when they can use that slot for something else? Allow BL to finish out the final season on a Friday night when it doesn't really matter.

This just pains me; Life is a much better show than CSI:Miami. And Chuck was good. I've never had all my favorite shows on the loser list for one night. I wish people would give these shows a chance.
On another note, Miami was down 3 million from its primiere, I think. I wonder how MOWE will fare.

And both Chuck and Life were on line pre-premiere.
