MyNetworkTV named Arsenio Hall host of new reality series Funniest Moments, set to debut on the network this fall.
The hour-long show “capturing life’s most outrageous moments caught on tape” will air Wednesdays at 9 p.m., MyNetworkTV said.
Hall hosted Emmy Award-winning late night talk show The Arsenio Hall Show from 1989-94.
“Bringing years of comedic experience and timing, both behind and in front of the camera, we are thrilled to welcome Arsenio to the MyNetworkTV schedule,” MyNetworkTV president Greg Meidel said in a statement.

Before everyone gets too excited about the performance of The Bill Engvall show and the other CBS sitcoms there is a reason the CBS sitcoms did a little better last night. It was the first night in months and months that the CBS sitcoms had no sports competition against them. No basketball, no hockey, and only 5 regional baseball games scheduled last night. The sitcoms seem to always do better with less sports competition.

It’s a tough order for any show to transition from cable to broadcast, as NBC has noted before. Reruns of USA’s “Law & Order: Criminal Intent,” “Monk” and “Psych” all drew low ratings on NBC earlier this year, as did Showtime’s “Dexter” on CBS.
L&O CI does not fit this analysis. It reran fairly well for awhile on NBC though may have lost steam as the other nets returned. It would be, however, be an example of the opposite situation, of the difficulty of taking a broadcast show over to cable. Even there, I don't think anybody considers the new originals a bust on cable since there just isn't a good measuring stick for this yet.

Today, June 10 would have been Judy Garland's 86th birthday. So, time to mention on this forum once again that if you'd like to hear one of those celebrity rants, listen to Judy Garland from the 1960s being angry. Even if you are like me and you're not a fan of Judy's or have no interest about anything Judy, you'll still find yourself fascinated with these recordings.

I don't know what people are talking about, maybe it's my lack of mole for four years but I am liking this season much better than the two celeb editions and better than the second mole with anderson cooper....It probably isn't as good as the first one but is my second fav so far....This one is more edgy, like a mix of big brother and the mole....I think they should move it to the 7pm hour...I will be pissed if they don't let this run its course....I don't expect a renewal but I will enjoy this final ride....If they want to end it asap just double up and put for 2 hours on a different night just to burn them off or move to a different timeslot....Don't just let this one sit in the can abc, as long as it pulls at least a 1.2-1.3, considering According to Jim pulls those type of numbers and you keep that junk on the air. P.S. The fat guy's the mole! You heard it here first!

Originally posted by TV-aholic: Plus, in my plan, you would only need to start off with 3 shows on Sundays. Use a rerun of 2.5 Men as the Buffer-show for NON NFL runover weeks in the fall. Otherwise, plan on 60 minutes starting late (7:30ish) and then the rest of the night would not get disrupted and would get a little more benifit of the NFL carryover audience.
I agree with this plan. Not only does it allow for overrun buffer, but TAR isn't compatible with the rest of the old-skewing Sunday lineup. :/

ABC beefs up Saturdays with Wonderful World of Disney. I think it is a good idea to see if the idea will fly by giving it some time to catch on rather than the sporadic showings they have had over the past couple of years.

"The Mole" is doing as I thought...TERRIBLE. Whatever success it had in the past was klunked by the dopey "Celebrity Edition", which turned a lotta people off to it for good.
Usually, when a show is cancelled dueta low viewership, it has still yet fewer viewers if it's resurrected. IMO, "The Mole" shoulda stayed in its burrow.

Outside of Season 1, this edition is great. shame the show isn't catchng. ABC must be shocked. Based on the marketing campaign they put together, you would figure it would be doing better. Last night's episode was better than last week's episode. I have at least three suspected people on my list on who can be the mole and one of them got executed last night.
Thank you for helping out! Can you also post tomorrow for me? I will be out of pocket tracveling back to New York.

Wobbly start for NBC's country warblers
'Nashville Star' opens with a 2.2, finishing third
By Toni Fitzgerald Jun 10, 2008
The broadcast premiere of NBC’s “Nashville Star” proved a bit off key. The sixth season of the reality singing competition, moving over from USA, drew low but not awful ratings last night.
“Star” averaged a 2.2 adults 18-49 rating, according to Nielsen overnights, finishing third in its 9 to 11 p.m. timeslot with new host Billy Ray Cyrus.
The show did see a slight improvement from 9 to 10 p.m., rising from a 2.1 to a 2.2. But it was a distant fourth at 9 p.m. and vaulted into second at 10 only because ABC took a dive with the second episode of “The Mole,” which averaged a mere 1.6 rating.
Still, “Star” did draw its best-ever audience among total viewers, averaging 6.6 million total viewers. It more than doubled the show's previous best season premiere among 18-49s, a 1.0 for season two.
And it had a disadvantage with a low lead-in, “American Gladiators,” which averaged a fourth-place 1.9 among 18-49s at 8 p.m.
Meanwhile, CBS led the night among 18-49s with a 2.5 average overnight rating and a 7 share. Fox was second at 2.4/7, NBC third at 2.1/6, ABC fourth at 2.0/6, Univision fifth at 1.7/5 and CW sixth at 0.4/1.
At 8 p.m. Fox and CBS tied for first at 2.1, Fox for a repeat of “Bones” and CBS for a special airing of TBS’s “The Bill Engvall Show” (1.9) and a repeat of “How I Met Your Mother” (2.2). ABC was third with a 2.0 for the first hour of “The Bachelorette,” NBC fourth with a 1.9 for “Gladiators,” Univision fifth with a 1.8 for “Al Diablo con los Guapos” and CW sixth with a 0.5 for a repeat of “Gossip Girl.”
CBS took the lead at 9 p.m. with a 3.1 for repeats of “Two and a Half Men” and “Rules of Engagement,” followed by Fox with a 2.7 for a “House” rerun. ABC was third with a 2.5 for another hour of “Bachelorette,” NBC fourth with a 2.1 for “Star,” Univision fifth with a 1.8 for “Fuego en la Sangre” and CW sixth with a 0.4 for a repeat of “One Tree Hill.”
At 10 p.m. CBS was first again with a 2.3 for a repeat of “CSI: Miami,” while NBC moved to second with a 2.2 for more “Star.” ABC was third with a 1.6 for “Mole” and Univision fourth with a 1.4 for “Cristina.”
CBS also finished first for the night among households with a 5.4 average overnight rating and a 9 share. Fox was second at 5.0/8, ABC and NBC tied for third at 3.9/7, Univision fifth at 2.0/3 and CW sixth at 0.8/1.

They definitely skewed older on the USA Network version of the show.
Not joking here, the contest Shawn Mayer literally grew up 3 miles from my house. We went to school together and rode the bus home together every day. It comes as no surprise to any of us to see her on TV.

While I agree with TV's idea about marathons, remember, this is Olympics time. Male skewing stuff is good counter programming to gymnastics and swimming. I remember last time Fox ran Family Guy, Bernie Mac, That 70s Show, and Arrested Development marathons.
