I was thinking the same thing.

I think the Bill engvall show would be a good show to add to the cbs line up.

Exactly. CBS is doing the right thing by easing into comedy on Wednesday. They have no idea how well comedy on Wednesday will do. It could do well or it could tank hard. It is much less of a risk doing one hour instead of two. If the comedies bomb on a two hour block, the whole night is gone for CBS. If it does well, a second hour could be in the cards Fall of 2009.

LOL! You just don't give up do you? Wink

If (and that's a big if) the new hour on Wednesday does well, I can see them considering a fourth hour for the 2009-2010 or 2010-2011 season.

Hey, I miss the days when each network would only have 7 or 8 hours total for DRAMAS. Most of the remaining hours were filled with sitcoms.

Considering what it premiered to earlier this year, it's pretty bad.

Sundays would have been the better night for CBS to have a second 2 hour comedy block.

I agree, wednesdays @ 8pm may be weak in the ratings come this fall

CBS tried comedies in 2002-2003 (Becker and Bram & Alice/Greek Life) and failed, as well as in 1995-1996 (Cybill and Almost Perfect/Bonnie Hunt) and failed. Comedies don't do well holding onto the 60 Minutes lead-in, plus The Simpsons takes away any potential 18-49 audience.

Her son, 16-year-old John Connor (Thomas Dekker), is only now taking steps towards embracing his destiny as the future savior of mankind. John finds himself caught between his fearless protector, the sexy but sweet cyborg CAMERON (Summer Glau), and his uncle DEREK REESE (Brian Austin Green) who refuses to accept Cameron as an ally. Former FBI agent JAMES ELLISON (Richard T. Jones) has been transformed into a believer. Accepting Sarah's reality that "no one is ever safe," he's now bent on figuring out his role in this ever-evolving fate.

The T:SCC marathon will feature the following episodes in original air order:

Sunday, Aug. 10 (9:00-10:00 PM ET/PT)

"Dungeons and Dragons"

While fighting for his life and moving in and out of consciousness, Derek Reese remembers life in the future and his personal battle against the machines.

Well, in 2202-03, Becker was at the end of its run and the others were not that good. To compare now to 13 years ago, is not really valid. That was at the height of the Sitcome Goden Age.

Plus, in my plan, you would only need to start off with 3 shows on Sundays. Use a rerun of 2.5 Men as the Buffer-show for NON NFL runover weeks in the fall. Otherwise, plan on 60 minutes starting late (7:30ish) and then the rest of the night would not get disrupted and would get a little more benifit of the NFL carryover audience.

Keep 2 of the 5 returning comedies on Monday nights, protecting and helping the 2 new shows. Place the remaining 3 comedies on Sunday nights (8:30 - 10pm). Once it is know how well they can do, ad a new comedy, or two, to the lineup on sunday

It needs to be done with all new sitcoms, maybe one returning one in a non-leadoff slot. CBS has had bad results historically when it moves sitcoms to a new night.
