Well, its one hour before I give my Fall 2008 TV Preview at BANFF, so here is a quick listing of the fast affiliate results for Sunday, June 8. The overall network results are first, followed by each half hour in order of ABC, CBS, NBC, Fox and the CW. Keep in mind that results for game two of The NBA Finals are approximate, and part of the results for Jimmy Kimmel Live includes football.
ABC – NBA Finals, Game 2 Viewers: 10.63 million (#1), A18-49: 4.4/12 (#1) 10:30 p.m.
ABC – NBA Finals, Game 2 Viewers: 9.22 million (#1t), A18-49: 4.4/12 (#1)
So 1.4million viewers tuned out before the game ended, but none of the 'demo' viewers tuned out? I guess old people and little kids have to go to bed early, but adults can stay up to watch the game?
I'm glad to see Million Dollar Password do well for CBS and NBA Finals did well too. And NBC grew in each half hour from 7-11 with Outrageous Moments and Dateline. Outrageous Moments will have its last Tuesday airing this week too (thank god).
FOX did poorly with its repeats but thats probably because of the NBA Finals. There's some speculation that The Simpsons might end next year due to low ratings (as the cast and crew get pay raises) and 20 years is a good for any series. And FOX is premiering two new animated comedies anyway, and with King of the Hill entering season 13, its about time that new animated shows fill up their line-up.
Will we get the results for Cable channels? I'm curious as to USA network. They had an original L&O:CI followed by the new In Plain Sight. I like CI, but IPS seems pretty weak to me. Anybody else think so?

If SIMPSONS were going to end next year I don't think they would have bothered renegotiating the voice contracts-they could have just pulled it a year early.

No, its just the older viewers know what a blowout really looks like. Those dumb Lakers fans stuck around, hoping for a 30 point comeback in the 4th qtr.
Usually the weekly top 20/40 for cable is released on Tuesdays for Wednesday publications..... IF Nielsen doesn't have any glitched during the week.

Good news and bad news for Million Dollar Password. The good news is that its ratings are decent and held up well (only about a million loss from last week overall). However, this could be due to the fact that its facing very light competion (basketball didn't really start until 9 PM). The bad news is that it lost ratings from 60 Minutes and is skewing very old. For around a 9 million viewership, it is barely struggling to get a 2.0 demo. It'll go below a 2 in subsequent weeks.
