Every episode is the same. Maybe the CW thinks they can just keep showing the same 12 episodes and nobody will notice. So far, over 2.5 million haven't.

The 28th game of the 2007-08 season of the original (and challenging) P.I. Feedback Challenge is online! You have until Tuesday April 1 @ 7:59am ET to join in on the fun of this game!
The Futile Four poll is already taking being votes and it consists of all NBC programs:
[#3] Heroes (NBC) [#4] 30 Rock (NBC) [#7] Scrubs (NBC) (upsetting the #2 seed Grey's Anatomy (ABC) for the second year in a row!) [#8] Deal or No Deal (NBC) (upsetting the #1 seed and defending 2006-07 overrated champion American Idol (FOX))

They are all the same, aren't they? I don't think Reaper is doing that well -- considering the competition was pretty light -- with Lost a repeat and basketball less than an average CSI repeat -- the demo at least, if not total viewers should have been a little higher.
I'm afraid TV will just get back to 'normal' and the actors will go out. I think a lot of viewers will REALLY give up on TV in general if that happens
Not only that Reaper is male skewing while Gossip Girl is female skewing. The CW is obviously prioritizing its female audience over males.

I agree. Based upon quality and ratings, Reaper should have already gotten renewal. maybe they are just spacing out their renewal press releases while they try to figure out what day Reaper will air on next Fall? Then again, if Warner bros and CBS Studios are in a fight about which of them gets more of their product to the network, then Reaper may get dumped just because neither of them has a hand in it.
It's no mystery. Check out the 18-34 demo for new eps of Gossip Girl. Travis always posts it in his final ratings report. GG will score as high as 2.0 in 18-34 for its new eps. Last Thursday, a new episode of Reaper scored a 0.8 in 18-34. That's not going to make the CW nitwit gods happy. All they care about is that bloody stupid demo.

The problem I am sure is that it isn't getting a exceptable rating in the 18-34 demo.
Gossip Girls has a smaller total audience, but manages a much stronger demo. Out of the hour longs it has the lowest demo numbers.

You need to compare those numbers again, the two shows are very close in the demo. As for A18-34 and W18-34 numbers, those things are really only good for press releases spinning. No show has ever been saved by those 'niche' ratings, advertisers are better off going to cable if they really want such a narrow target.
And among all new CW shows, Reaper is a great 'success', it would be very surprising if that show was not renewed.

I believe A18-34 is the CW's target demo, which is why Travis has 18-34s for the CW and not the Big 4. mswood is right - that number is what has kept Reaper from being a guaranteed renewal.
I agreed about Reaper being a little too complacent and formulaic for most of the year, though it was still entertaining. But I've really liked the three eps since the move to Thursday. The demon neighbors have been a great addition IMO, and they seem to be taking the serialized aspects a little more seriously.

Actually, I don't think anyone can look at any of the programming that the CW has created can be deemed a success. I mean I like some of it, but even I can easily ackowledge that nothing has been successful.
And as for the 18-34 demo, that is the specific demographic that the CW is gearing itself to. And they have made no real secret of that they are marketing themselves for the demo. We may not agree if its a smart move or not, but that is what they are trying to do.

Except that Reaper is about as good as Gossip Girl in that demo when Gossip Girl doesn't have the benefit of a massive lead-in from ANTM.
TRAVIS what is the best Gossip Girl has done in the 18-34 demo without having ANTM as a lead in? Could it be 1.0, same as Reaper's number last night?

I totally agree about the neighbors being a great addition. It just seemed the show was missing something and this has been a great solution.
I'm really pulling for this show to find it's audience... it keeps getting better and better.

I am very pleased with how Miss/Guided did last night, kicking off the night for ABC with a little half-hourly demo build. It has earned enough for renewal in my books.
I really thought Eli Stone would do better now that Lipstick Jungle had finished for the season. An OK viewer number, but the demo should have been higher.
And Reaper saw a 20% climb in its A18-34 which is a good trend. I agree with spotupj...the post-strike episodes (which may have been filmed pre-strike) have been an improvement over the early season eps.

If I remember correctly, when Reaper was pulled from the schedule as a result of the WGA strike, CW saved 3 original episodes. So, yes, the Thursday episodes that have aired the last few weeks were filmed pre-strike.

I am also pleased how it did. Both of the episodes did better then a repeat of Lost, and the 18-49 demo was better then Eli Stone's. I also think it deserves a renewal.

ABC has already renwed shows that will fail badly next season. I dount they'll make the same mistake with Miss/Guided
