-Yesterday’s Winners: American Idol (Fox), Survivor: Heroes vs. Villains (CBS), CSI (CBS), Grey’s Anatomy (ABC), The Office (NBC), The Mentalist (CBS)
-Yesterday’s Losers (excluding repeats): Community (NBC), Parks and Recreation (NBC), Kitchen Nightmares (Fox)
----------
-Ratings Breakdown: It was a night of split Thursday leadership, with CBS the most-watched network and the home of American Idol, Fox, No. 1 among adults 18-49.
The live American Idol hour was the top-rated show for the night, of course, with a solid 19.15 million viewers and a 6.2 rating/18 share among adults 18-49 at 8 p.m. The next four to be sent packing were Katelyn Epperly, Lilly Scott, Todrick Hall and Alex Lambert. Kitchen Nightmares, which is not necessarily capitalizing on the lead-in support, dipped to 7.60 million viewers (#3) and a 3.1/ 9 among adults 18-49 (#4) at 9 p.m. Retention out of the 8:30 p.m. portion of American Idol (Viewers: 20.46 million; A18-49: 6.8/19) was only 37 percent in total viewers and 46 percent in the demo. No wonder Gordon Ramsay is so bitter!
Second at 8 p.m. was CBS’ Survivor: Heroes vs. Villains at a very comfortable 12.18 million viewers and a 3.6/11 among adults 18-49. If the heroes are struggling like they are, why leave an injured contestant in the game and vote out someone who is still strong? CSI followed with 15.42 million viewers (#1) and a 3.3/ 9 among adults 18-49 (#3) at 9 p.m., leading into 16.03 million viewers and a 3.4/10 among adults 18-49 -- first in both categories -- for The Mentalist at 10 p.m. The Mentalist, no doubt, is being considered for the Thursday 9 p.m. hour next season, which if moved will probably lead into CSI at 10 p.m. More on that when the networks announce their fall 2010 schedules in May.
ABC, which will return former Thursday 8 p.m. anchor FlashForward into the time period next week, kicked-off the evening with a repeat of Grey’s Anatomy at a fourth-place finish in both total viewers (4.40 million) and adults 18-49 (1.1/ 3) at 8 p.m. That led into Grey’s Anatomy at 10.96 million viewers (#2) and a first-place 3.9/11 in the demo at 9 p.m., followed by spin-off Private Practice at a second-place 7.94 million viewers and a 2.9/ 9 in adults 18-49 at 10 p.m.
Over at NBC, week two of The Marriage Ref on Thursday took a hit, dropping to third in the 10 p.m. hour in both total viewers (6.04 million) and adults 18-49 (2.7/ 8). While this is an improvement from former occupant The Jay Leno Show, erosion from it’s week-ago opener (Viewers: 7.71 million; A18-49: 3.4/10 on March 4) was 1.67 million viewers and 21 percent in the demo.
Earlier in the evening on NBC were sitcoms Community (Viewers: #3, 4.70 million; A18-49: #3, 1.9/ 6), Parks and Recreation (Viewers: #3, 4.61 million; A18-49: #3, 2.1/ 6), The Office (Viewers: #4, 7.51 million; A18-49: #1, 3.8/11) and 30 Rock (Viewers: #4, 5.89 million; A18-49: #4, 2.9/ 8). The Office deserves accolades winning the 9 p.m. half-hour in total viewers and building from Parks and Recreation by 2.90 million viewers and 81 percent in the demo.
The CW capped off this second Thursday in March with repeats of The Vampire Diaries (Viewers: #5, 1.46 million; A18-49: #5, 0.5/ 2) and Supernatural (Viewers: #5, 1.40 million; A18-49: #5, 0.5/ 1), which both are confirmed to return in 2010-11.

Not surprised that Marriage Ref is falling. Viewers have quickly discovered that this is a show that's all style and no substance. It's all about celebrity banter, and once you're bored with that, there's nothing else to see.
SURVIVOR was great last night and earned its ratings.
Marc as to why Tom went out...I think they realized that one...he's pretty arrogant and two he's already got a million dollars. I'm glad he's gone and that Colby is now dead in the water. Good for Jeff for giving Colby a smack down at the reward challenge.
Also Re; MARRIAGE REF...instead of airing junk like this NBC needs to immediatly negotiate picking up 24 if its cancelled.
Jack Bauer could easily give NBC its number one show.
I think I agree with those that voted off the other player. Despite being injured, he may still be the stronger player over the other player. They are not the same player they were just a few years ago.

You are assuming that he will help them LOSE challenges. The other player has BEEN helpful in the losing of the challenges.

Why keep injured players who will only cause them to lose more challenges?
It is an incredibly stupid plan.
This season has been bad I hope Russell wins as he plays a great game and he is in it to win it.
Pretty low demos last night, especially in that 8:00 hour. Below a 7 for Idol? Pretty bad, only to get worse after cutting loose some good talent last night.
Survivor, in season 20, continues to entertain and get some very strong ratings. Amazing.
What's happened to Grey's? WOW! Only to get worse with the announcement today that Heigl won't be returning. ABC needs to stop the bleeding and fast!

WOW! Grey's has really been sinking in the ratings lately. and This week, it didn't have the tougher competition like it has ad in the past month, or so.
ABC may want to think about pairing up DH and GA again to help strengthen one of the two nights. ABC future does not look good right now.

That's pretty bad for AI actually. And what about GA? No excuses this week. This show is going downhill just as fast as DH. But at least DH is still watchable, GA is a mess these days
