Well its not like competition was end of the world tough and when numbers are so low, its really hard to fall lower.

I don't agree. For example i watched it, thought it was horrible and didn't return. There was a big chance for many more to do that. Obviously that didn't happen

ONE BIG QUESTION: Why DOESN'T Marc POST ANY MyNetworkTV ratings data?

BTW, MNT's showing of movie, "Sister Act 2" (starring Whoopie Goldberg) beat The CW:

According to Nielsen, MNT beat The CW in the households (luckily, The CW beat MNT in the demo by 0.1) in a RERUN night vs. RERUN night (between CW and MNT) during the night of March 6, 2008 (Thursday).

Here are the breakdowns:

Breakdown - by half hour (households and demo)
R = rerun/repeat

8/7c:
Smallville R (CW): HH: 1.5/2, A18-49: 1.0 vs. My Thursday Night Movie: Sister Act 2 R (MNT): HH: 1.3/2, A18-49: 0.5

8:30/7:30c:
Smallville R (CW): HH: 1.5/2, A18-49: 0.9 vs. My Thursday Night Movie: Sister Act 2 R (MNT): HH: 1.5/2, A18-49: 0.6

9/8c: MNT beats CW
Reaper R (CW): HH: 1.1/2, A18-49: 0.6 vs. My Thursday Night Movie: Sister Act 2 R (MNT): HH: 1.7/3, A18-49: 0.8

9:30/8:30c: MNT beats CW
Reaper R (CW): HH: 1.1/2, A18-49: 0.6 vs. My Thursday Night Movie: Sister Act 2 R (MNT): HH: 2.0/3, A18-49: 1.0

******Average******
CW - HH: 1.3/2, A18-49: 0.8
MNT - HH: 1.6/3, A18-49: 0.7

Mushu_jj is right in this case. It doesn't matter the retention with numbers this low. If I recall correctly, Nashville had a very high retention rate episode 2 and it was gone. It's overall numbers are below any chance of coming back and high chance of getting ended early. Also, these are preliminary numbers. It is possible that the numbers dropped lower.

In GENERAL, Yes, I knew about that since Nielsen released the first data were UNI beat CW (and that also concludes UNI beating MNT coz CW beats MNT and UNI beats CW), but I am talking about English-speaking nets.

Univision has a LOYAL FAN BASE coz their shows are airing weeknights (TELENOVELAS) and also in the Philippines, giant networks air SOAP OPERAS weeknights which creats a LOYAL FAN BASE but in the case of MNT (MNT aired Telenovelas before), they had a rough start but its growing though.

This has been asked numerous times before, and I believe he said he doesn't get the MNT numbers. But I bet starting next season, he will.

JJ is just awful; horribly unfunny and painful to watch--especially with that insipid laugh track. Hard to believe it's from the same people who created Gilmore Girls---but since I'm still mad at the Palladinos for what they did to GG, I'm thrilled their new show is tanking. But actually it does deserve the ax--it's just that bad.

Whose saying its the same people watching? It could've been fans of Til Death that stuck around this week.

If they use Bones as the lead in next week, CL could content for number one in viewers at 9 if the old folks catch on its moved. But imo this looks more like a burn off move by Fox. Nevertheless, complaining isn't necessary because at least Fox is still airing it despite a record low time period debut in the demo 2 Mondays ago.

I don't think CL will make it past May. Bones and New Amsterdam would be a good pairing. I could see FOX doing that on Friday.

I think this depends completely on whether or not MNTV forks out some extra bucks to have their data released with the rest of the networks. A year ago, it was a big step for MNTV to even have data released with the finals. Maybe next year they will pay for their data to be released in the overnights, but I think it is up to MNTV, not Nielsen/Marc.

Overnight metered market numbers have been reported for MyNetworkTV since the network launched in September 2006. Travisyanan has reported them on occasion (last season mostly), as has lostinratings (this season).

To summarize, MyNetworkTV Nielsen data availability since inception has been:

* Sep.2006-Mar.2007 -> daily overnight metered markets, weekly averages (reporting similar to syndicated programming).
* Mar.2007-current -> daily overnight metered markets, daily finals, weekly averages (reporting similar to most cable networks).

To my knowledge, the only numbers where MNT is not and never has been reported are the daily FAST Nationals, and perhaps this mode of reporting may be added in the upcoming season.

On a separate issue, there are reports emerging on the web that ION is making a major shift in programming that will be announced in early April, and that will be further elaborated upon in their May upfront. Rumours indicate that it may include an expansion of network programming made available to affiliates (more hours per day) and/or a return to a higher percentage of original scripted/non-scripted programming (a la the strategy for PAX and i). This season ION has been averaging 0.4HH/1%, 550k viewers and 0.1 A18-49 with a sked that is comprised mostly of encores of classic network programming (i.e. Mama's Family, Baywatch, etc.).

Perhaps if ION returns to the original programming landscape, this coming fall could see three mini-networks grappling for fifth place amongst the English-language networks.
