-Adults 18-49: CBS: 3.1 rating/10 share, ABC: 1.7/ 5, NBC, Fox and CW: 1.4/ 5 each

Note: Any prior rating results are based on the final nationals. Since the level of DVR penetration has increased from 13 percent at this same point last year to approximately 23 percent at present, the overall results may be negatively impacted.

-Friday’s Winners: Nothing
-Friday’s Losers (excluding repeats): Amnesia (NBC), The Return of Jezebel James (Fox), Dateline (NBC)

-Ratings Breakdown: It was an easy Friday victory for CBS, with the prime-time portion of the 2008 NCAA Basketball First Round, Day 2 at an average 8.30 million viewers and a 3.1 rating/10 share among adults 18-49. Comparably, that beat the No. 2 network -- NBC in total viewers, ABC among adults 18-49 -- by an average of a hefty 2.37 million viewers and 82 percent among adults 18-49.
NBC finished a distant second in total viewers and tied for third overall among adults 18-49 with its combination of game show Amnesia (Viewers: #2, 5.15 million; #2t, 1.3/ 5) and a two-hour edition of Dateline (Viewers: 6.32 million; A18-49: 1.6/ 5 from 9-11 p.m.). ABC was just the opposite -- third in total viewers and second in the demo -- with its line-up of a repeat of Grey’s Anatomy (Viewers: #3, 4.14 million; A18-49: #5, 1.0/ 4) and a two-hour edition of 20/20 (Viewers: 6.61 million; A18-49: 2.1/ 7 from 9-11 p.m.). Take a look at the two-hour editions of 20/20 versus Dateline:
A repeat of sophomore Fox sitcom ‘Til Death moved into the Friday 8 p.m. half-hour with barely any interest -- 3.35 million viewers (#5) and a fourth-place 1.1/ 4 among adults 18-49. That led into episode three of The Return of Jezebel James at just 3.11 million viewers (#5) and a fourth place 1.1/ 4 in the demo. Tick, tock…the cancellation clock is ticking. Capping off the evening for Fox was a repeat of House at 5.48 million viewers (#4) and a 1.7/ 5 among adults 18-49 (#3) from 9-10 p.m. As a reminder, recently introduced drama Canterbury’s Law and the House encore are flipping time periods, with Canterbury’s Law debuting here next Friday.
The CW’s exiting Friday Night Smackdown! was on the map, with a consistent 4.22 million viewers (#5) and a 1.4/ 5 among adults 18-49 (#3t) from 8-10 p.m. Yes, the CW will clearly miss Smackdown! next season given the expected losses without it on Friday. And new home MyNetworkTV will surely benefit.

Nice to see Jezebel climb up to fourth place in the demo for last nights episode, and retain 100% of last weeks demo and 98% of its viewership.
I interpret those tea leaves at the bottom of the tea-cup as meaning those who tuned in last week liked what they saw and came back again last night.
Last nights episode was a funny romp. Miss Lauren Ambrose, who is the absolute definition of rolls-eyes '00s ironic expression, commands attention in her every scene and is one of the most gifted comedic actresses of the new Millenium. Miss Ambrose has been placed atop my shortlist for Best Comedic Actress 2008.
Ms. Amy Sherman-Palladino is to be congratulated for launching this fresh, funny comedy that compares favourably to her brilliant work on Gilmore Girls. Hopefully FOX gives it chance enough for word-of-mouth to help bring bigger audiences to it on upcoming Friday nights.
Sorry Dumont, but I have a feeling FOX will be pulling Jezebel James off the schedule this week. Those numbers are Nashville territory. Just like Nashville, 2 and out.
I think NBC should pull Amnesia and put in My Dad is Better than Your Dad in its place. Both are similar concepts but MDIBTYD (my god, that name is longer than my screenname ) brings in slightly better ratings.

You and dumont are the only people who've said anything positive about JJ. Every review I read said it was God-awful.
IMO JJ is horrible, but the fact that it got the same numbers means that the vast majority of those who watched the first episode liked it. It's very rare that in the second week a new show gets the same numbers

Well its not like competition was end of the world tough and when numbers are so low, its really hard to fall lower.

Ay Caramba! The CW's viewership #s is closing the gap with FOX's #s.
